Once again, it has been a while since posting. Seems a theme. Since last post I have run the marathon I mentioned... under four hours (3:46:00) and no injuries... pretty happy about that. Signed up for a few more runs to make sure I keep it up.... 12k Oct. 2nd, half marathon NOv. 20th.... potentially a marathon in February.
But... a better use of my limited posts, with inspiration from Kaikai - Here is a list of things I want to do in the near and mid term future... basically this calendar year. Please PM or comment here if you have ideas / suggestions / encouragement on any that seem interesting to you...
And now... the list of things to do....
Visit a country I've never been to for a week or more
--- so far I have visited Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Ireland, Nicaragua, Spain, Iceland, Greece, Italy
Host a dinner party on a weeknight
watch 10 flicks in the movie theater
Pay off my car (almost there!)
donate LOTS of my clothes
organize my tiny room
read more (books and graphic novels, plenty of magazines in my life)
---life changing read: Anathem by Neal Stephenson
---recent amazing read: Cryptinomicon by Neal Stephenson
---recent read: Tree of Smoke by Denis Johnson
---currently reading: Top Ten by Alan Moore
Score 5 goals (I play defense on two soccer teams - so, not many scoring opps)
and the kicker underlying everything...
Figure out what aspects of a relationship make me most happy
--- In a relationship, am very happy, not sure the two are fully connected (casual vs causal argument in my head)
Hooray doing stuff!
Today: off to folsom street fair, Moneyball, and the GF's G-Ma's birthday.
Have fun,
~N

Man, my posts on here are so sporadic. Hmmm...
My new year's resolution is to run a marathon. So I've registered for the San Francisco marathon on July 31st... should be fun to run it, interesting/challenging to prepare for it. I haven't done distance since... 2007 maybe?
And, in light of my erratic posting but sincere appreciation and enjoyment of this site, perhaps a second resolution will be to make better use of this site by becoming more active. I have given this a little thought and while I have accounts with other social and sharing sites, I don't really think any one is a perfect fit. My own blog is very lonely as well (nathanscripps.com if interested).
So... I think I am going to aim to compartmentalize my online life... SG for generally 'adult' conversation best kept to a limited or at least understanding audience. Sex, what is sexy, tattoos, booze, etc. are the initial concepts coming to mind. Possibly comic book nerdery, but I think that can live other places too.
Have fun folks, and happy new year,
~N

Happy Thanksgiving all...
Gearing up for a trip out of the country, heading to Greece with a buddy for my annual "get the hell out of the country" trip. Second year in a row to visit a failing economy... Last year was Iceland... who might fail next year?
Have fun,

Just realizing I missed Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes a couple days ago. Bummer. Oh well. Geographers put on a great show (local SF act) and I am happy to be heading to more live shows... I have missed them in my life.
Always lookin up...

bored and tired all week, so this evenign turned into a bottle of wine and a book. Apparently I decided to be boring this year.

You know the only time you lose things is when you realize you really want them. Where oh where are my double-12 dominoes for a game of Mexican train?
Tried to make due with my neighbors double-6's... nope. Just didn't satiate the craving.
I have been really into board games lately, mostly classic ones... really hoping to break out Monopoly soon, it's been years...
Have fun out there,
~N
