So, three months into the gig and the more I look at long term prospects the less enthused I am. Honey moon is over I suppose... not a great feeling... but damn, paying my rent is so cool. And by cool I do mean annoyingly necessary.
It'll be interesting to see where things go this month. Keep looking up.
Have fun out there,

Employed... first week down and digging it. Long hours, stocked kitchen, lots of smart, excited folks trying to figure shit out... I love startup life.
Just saw my favorite movie, Rad, in a parking lot at Mission and 7th. It was... rad. I am a happy monkey... and tomorrow morning I am headed to New Orleans for the weekend... Sister is turning 40 and I have to help celebrate... the things I do for family...

Have fun all,
~N
PS: to gear up for the NOLA trip, I saw the Rebirth Brass Band twice this past weekend... Great American and Mojito in North Beach... both epic, but Mojito had the small venue vibe I really dig... It will be a great weekend of jazz and beignets and general awesomeness.

Getting pretty dorked up to attend the SG Squirt party in SF. It'll be my first SG event and I am wondering how to make the awkward first approach to somebody I've see/ met on here.... Fuck it. White trash party? I am from Alabama... how can I not be comfortable in that environment?

Bringing along a buddy of mine that has three friends in town (more correctly, one friend and two germans). They are all slightly in the dark as to the whole SG world, but already have tickets. Trial by fire... lets see how it goes.
In other news, still on the hunt for the next gig and starting to feel more financial pressure to get something lined up... on a more positive note, loving bouncing around town on my bike instead of Muni, much more fun... and joined MOMA when my mom was in town... so feel free to hit me up if you wanna tag along any time for free.
Hazzah! Happy 4th!

Been a bit since posting... biggest news? Shaved my head, had some fun, and went on some great interviews... the job may be getting a bit closer. Oh yeah, and hiked Mt. Whitney... or at least half of it... Hazzah!
Have fun,

Sending out the resume and emails asking for help and advice to my industry colleagues and contacts. I have become way too comfortable with watching 2 to 4 movies a day, spending too much time on SG, and cultivating a nice even pink suburn... time to get back in the swing of things.
Just in case you know someone that can help me out, I work in the automotive industry and have spent the last four years in online marketing with an automotive vertical ad network. I spent most of my time on the sales side, but do marketing strategy and presentation to large and small groups (as well as training presentation skills and leading brainstorming sessions).
I really am excited to be staying in the automotive industry (thought about that one a lot over the last few months)... there are just too many changes on the horizon and I want to be a part of it all.
Have fun,

See: Off the couch and making a real go of it! Hooray motivation!

Showing off the glories of SG to my dear friend Alexis... she is floored by beautiful shots of beautiful girls. And then she floored me with stories of her own photo shoots.... hmmmmmm......
Also... Bonny Doon vineyard's 2004 Stolpman Nebbiolo is damn amazing. God damn amazing.

After realizing I spent almost my entire day looking at naked girls on SG, I got out, had some coffee and then had a kickass evening with the neighbs...
Today, while starting out with the ubiquitous coffee and SG fix, will likely result in a trip to the cinema for Terminator Salvation. Rough life, I know... but I am trying to get a job, I promise!
Weekend plans? Friday is as of now open... Zepparella show at Bottom of the Hill (right by my house) and Zombie Prom are contending for Saturday, & friends are stopping through town that night for the guest room as well, and Sunday may be a combination of Soupstock and Lady Sovereign (which could be a very danceable show indeed) if I can snag sold out tickets or decide to stand in line at the door (unlikely). Poor planning.
At any rate... weekend should be full of good times.

Home from 3 weeks on the road and was met by a lovely dinner out back with the neighbs Saturday night and Bay to Breakers yesterday (I was on the red team of a 20 person foosall table group) - Always a blast... and I was happy to end the drunk stumble with an hour of actual soccer (more or less) at the start of GG park. Hooray drunken fun, boo sunburn and sore back from carrying a 30 pack.
And today marks the first day I really hit the job search... wish me luck. The sideline/ vacation days are over.
have fun,

Back from Iceland... it rocked. Geysers and waterfalls and glaciers, oh my! Oh, and late night drunkenness and sunlight until 11pm. Still on vacation... going strong until the 16th! Possibly my last hurrah in unemployed-land, so trying to get it all in.
In New Hampshire now with a buddy in grad school, driving to DC soon for the weekend, then a week in Arkansas.... all wrapping up back in SF by the 16th....
Have fun,

I got doused making this picture at the bottom of Gullfoss Waterfall... soaked jeans for the rest of the day. more pictures on picasa HERE
