Depends on your definition of "fun", I suppose. "Exciting" or "trepidacious" might be a better fit. Was the tree endangering your house? What species was it? Get that trunk off to a sawyer, get some good quarter-sawn lumber out of it! Might make a good amp cabinet...

Yeah, the tree was eventually going to fall on the house. It's been slowly dying for a couple of years. It was a spruce. I have photos of the house from 1911. And the tree was a sapling in those pictures. It's been there for a while. It also was taking light away from the maples. My neighbor had a spruce the same size actually fall on her house, it destroyed everything. She fought the insurance company for two years before they finally gave her the money to fix everything, bastards, they take your money for 20 years and when you need some of yours(theirs) they want to cancel you. So..... preventive maintenance.
