Couple pics to show off the beard i'm growing. Will be doing another photoshoot or two like the pics next month for my birthday

On January 21 I moved from Brisbane to Mackay to work for 12 months on site. It was a huge step for me as I've never lived out of home before or even on my own.
After living in a hotel for almost a month I've finally moved into my own townhouse and get to sleep on MY OWN BED!!
Today was a mission having to get phone line connected, removalists bringing my goods from storage, aircon pipe was blocked in the car so water was pouring into the passenger foot area. After al that mayhem I was finally able to get to the gym and smash a good session out.
The biggest gripe for the today though was that I chickened out as usual with giving my phone number to a chick. Spent nearly a month talking to her at the hotel I was staying at. I checked out today and she wasn't there, but she turned up just as I was leaving. I dropped balls big time when I saw her, didn't help that there with other people around she works with and I've spoken to there..
Oh well, I guess i'll see if I bump into her at the gym.

Good old Frankie will make you laugh no matter how crap a week you've had.
After moving to Brisbane in 1988 from Sydney, i've lived at home all these years with my family/parents. At the end the of last year it was announced I'd be moving to North Queensland, Mackay to be exact for work.
Living on my own for the first time in my life will be fun, exciting and challenging but i'm looking forward to it.
I'm now just under 2 hours south of Airlie Beach and couple hours from the Great Barrier Reef, which I would think everyone or quite a few have heard about. I'm also quite close to the Daintree rainforest which is another landmark to visit while up here and can't forget Whitsunday Islands.
I'll be up here for 12months at the minimum, hopefully I could stay longer otherwise I could be moved back to brisbane or another site around Australia.
Going to be fun working with people on site and meeting heaps of new people. New friendships and who knows what else.

What a weekend.
Mates bucks party was heaps of fun. Started off at a guys house at 8am for breakfast. Around 11am we went go karting and was just funny watching people drive beyond their capabilities. Lawn bowls followed that, back to the house then off to the valley/city.
We had planned to visit a few strip clubs but only got to the cabaret club. Everyone was already well drunk as we started drinking at 8am.
By the end of the night there were only 4 of us standing and luckily one of them was the buck himself. It was my first big drinking session in over 4 years and i held up damn well. Woke up feeling great and ready to go again.
Wedding is this weekend, lets see how that goes. Off to Melbourne from September 13-16 for more shenanigans.

EKKA holiday tomorrow means no work!!
Most likely watch movies at home or go see the bourne supremacy.
Resting all this week for my powerlifting comp on saturday.I'm hoping to get some new PB's on Squat and Deadlifts. Be nice to equal previous best on Bench even though that's really struggling of late.

After this, bring on sizzler for afternoon snack then Crust Pizza for dinner and Ben and Jerry's ice cream for dessert.

Friend Friends house burnt down little while ago and they are doing a fundraise. If anyone in brisbane wants to come out and help these people get back on their feet then come along for a great day out.

Time for my random blog.

Gone up 10kg in just couple weeks. Hoping to do 215kg this week then if that feels strong i'll go for 220kg on 18/08 at a comp.
Below is what i'm competing at. It's a comp for novices which will be heaps of fun. I'll be competing in professional comps come next year. States and hopefully qualify so I can then go to melbourne for nationals.

Only been doing powerlifting since augiust last year and have enjoyed every minute of it. Everyone is friendly and willing to help you out.

Off to melbourne next month for a couple days to catch up with my bestie and drink!
Drinking will be fun for me as i've only drunk one in the past 4 years.

So in november 2011 I was doing some searching on discount sites to find a bargain on anything I could. I saw a holiday package to Rarotonga(cook islands) as thought this would be amazing as I love anything to with this. I sadly missed this due to fart arsing around. Next day a deal for hotel in Hawaii was posted, i thought about it for a day and went stuff it and bought it.
It was the most amazing place. Everyone is super friendly has so much respect for themselves and love what they do unlike people in Australia. Here we take our jobs and salaries for granted and don't respect ourselves for it. The restaurants I went had amazing service and the waiters/waitresses went above what was needed. In Australia they show you to table throw plates and cutlery on table and treat you like sheep. While in hawaii, they kept coming over to make sure everything was ok and just seemed happy to be there.
Walking up and down kalakaua avenue every never got boring. I was able to find something new to look at.
I did a day tour of oahu which went all the way around the island stopping at all the hot spots. Tour guide Jesse was a great bloke and I recommend him to anyone who wants to do a tour. The same goes for Phoenix when you do the big island tour. Both are so down to earth and just to talk all day.
Did the kokohead trail which isn't for the faint hearted or unfit. Just shy of 1100 steps and becomes vertical near the top this is a gruelling trail but is truly rewarding when you reach the top. Breathtaking 360 degree views and made me realise how lucky I was to be there to experience it.
I also visited the Kualoa ranch where some big hollywood films were made like Godzilla, Jurassic Park, 50 first dates and many others. After the tours were finished we were provided an amazing dinner with a show that told us about the history of Hawaii and how everything was created.
Paradise Cove luau was the last big adventure for me.Few hundred people enjoying a brilliant stage show. I would have loved to stay longer due to the island girls(huge weakness of mine)
:love
Moment I got back to Australia I knew I was back amongst some of the unfriendliest, miserable human beings on this plant. Everyone says Australians are friendly and it's a great place to live, but I say BS!. If I had the opportunity to move overseas I would hesitate for one second.
I truly can't wait to visit Hawaii again. Next time I may go with someone else or go alone again, probably lean more towards going alone. As nice as it would be to go with someone else being in another country by yourself is just so much better. Not having a care in the world and being completely free is an amazing feeling.
