NUS LGBT Conference 2012
The NUS LGBT conference was in Manchester this year at the Mercure hotel with delegates from all over the country coming together to pass policy for our future.
There was a wonderful array of different kinds of policy, some eccentric, some controversial, some on our basic human rights.
We passed motions on:
Our dedication to fight the cuts to protect the LGBT community.
Liberation not Occupation.
Body image and fighting Stereotypes.
Mental health in our community
Feminism and pushing for the encouragement of strong female leaders.
Inclusion of Asexuals further into our Campaign
Trans Parenting Rights
Combatting Bi-Phobia.
Challenging the media in their representation of our Trans community.
Schools out! Educating schools on our issues.
LGBT and Womens representation in Student Unions.
Involvement in Sport.
Faith and Sexuality
and many many more.
