Well, it's been a while since I have updated... truth is I don't come around much anymore. I check the photo group and a couple of friends to see what's up with them. The rare set as well, but honestly the images rarely stand out anymore. I think that Cherry's sets are the exception... one or two others perhaps.
This has been a strange summer for me, it took forever for it to actually start feeling like summer weather wise and once summer kicked in, the weather has been very schizophrenic about it. Weather spiking all over the place. I am really hoping for an indian summer, but it is already feeling like autumn in the middle of august...
the big thing has been that I started a new relationship with my high school sweetheart. 20 years later after the fact. It has been surreal to say the least. especially so for the fact that she was living in Salt Lake City, over 1000 miles away. I have family there, and we had met up on a whim when I was visiting them and ended up hooking up. The years in between seemed to just melt away. for 3 months, I made the 2,000 mile round trip on the motorcycle a couple of times. A very hot phone rapport developed in between the visits...
Cutting to the chase; after 4 months of this back and forth, shas moved in. It has been exhilarating and terrifying. I have been such a confirmed bachelor for so long... it's been 8 years since I actually lived with a woman full time. I am concerned that there will be space issues, but am hopeful that we can deal with it. I have been so fucking jaded for so long, unwilling to open the ramparts to my heart for anyone... but here I am. woah. wish me luck.
Other than that, the big news is that my precious Powermac has died. I have yet to come to terms with her death as she is my photo editing system. Hell I think that I spend more time at that computer doing photo work than I do with any human... But get this; She bled to death! Yes, I will repeat; my computer bled to death. Apparently, what was a super advanced liquid cooling system, has been leaking and corroding for some time, until a couple of days ago, she finally gave up the ghost. Imagine my surprise when I opened her up and saw liquid and corrosion! Panic!!!!
I am calling Apple monday to try and get them to deal with this out of warranty, as I have read that some have been successful with this leaking issue. If you have any special computer karma or mantras or whatever, please send it my way.
I am attempting to make do with an old laptop for now. it is not going to be able to do much photo work though. I am so backlogged. I will just have to use this time to focus on the myriad of things I need to get done other than photography (not that this is going to prevent me from shooting).

But, good news. I called the factory in Portland and they said just the small size is discontinued, and they are making larger sizes which is good for me.
I am saved.
my macbook is dying as well. i need to get the cord that goes from the innards to the display fixed. hoping it's possible and not too spendy.
