Happy Rapture Day!

To celebrate the end of the world, I'm having a drink.

Thanks again to everyone. One week of being a college grad and things are nice.

I interviewed for a job as a stringer reporter for a radio station. I'm not sure I'll get the job. I have no radio experience, as I would have to put nine stories together script and soundbites and all, the day after I get the story. Not to mention that they were also getting interns to do the same job. In my mind, why hire someone when you can have someone else do it for free?

If I don't get it, I work extra days washing dishes. I'd be making the same money anyway.

I'm going to write about something very personal now: Macho Man Randy Savage is dead. As a fan of professional wrestling, this just hurts. You don't even have to watch WWF stuff to know how to do a Randy Savage impersonation. The dude didn't even always play the good guy. He was one of the best heels ever. But when he wasn't playing the bad guy he was doing awesome. Just seeing the dude FLY off the top turnbuckle was worth watching a match.

Before anyone says "Wrestling is fake" I say this, do we go to performances of MacBeth and Hamlet because they are historical? Do we watch soap operas for the realism? No, we like being entertained and wrestling does it for some of us.

To be "that guy" for a moment...the clocks in Julius Caesar are technically not anachronistic. Both the Greeks and the Romans had water clocks with automaton that chimed off the hour...not that they were very accurate. But, they were a common household item.

Obviously, it's not what Shakespeare intended...so his intention is anachronistic. But, the occurrence itself of a clock "chiming" was not.

Also, there's obviously different allowances for what is clearly error rather than "artistic license." I highly doubt the 16th century bard who had never left his home in England was aware of common household items in the Roman Republic as opposed to multi-million dollar cable show's ability to research facts.

he was far too old to be any kind of troll. he doesn't even deserve the title. he also never commented back, so I guess he's a very poor troll, at that.
