Big accomplishment this morning: A paper of mine was just accepted to the Journal of Biogeography, one of the best journals in my field of biology. It's about the order in which Hawaiian moths have colonized one island to the next over geologic time, and why. This will make it much more likely that I'll get a postdoc or job in my field, despite the awful job market.
Other updates: Submitted my first SG set. More back and forth with biologists in New Zealand who are helping me write my main postdoc proposal. Just saw a job advertised at Cal State Northridge. I have never been to Northridge so if anyone knows anything about it I'm all ears. Tomorrow, I'm off for a backpacking trip in the Sierras - no phones, no internets - yay!
