I have always been the wife/girl on the sidelines, the husband is a sideshow performer and I help but I am not needed for the act. I hang out with the roller girls and do the half time show but I an not really one, that is until now. I decided that I was tired of being that girl, the one who is kind of part of something but not really into something. So last week I went to derby try outs and am on the team. I have 3 weeks of boot camp but was still invited to come to practice with the girls, I just can't scrimmage with them. It should be lots of fun and lots of work but its nice to actually have some type of exercise that I HAVE to do.

So today was interesting.

I picked up a dog running loose, it was suppose to be aggressive but was super sweet. I got him back to the shelter, and scanned him for a chip and he had one (YEA!!!) we called the company and got the information called the owner and left a message. In the mean time some guy comes in and says its his dog, he even has a dog license for it. He comes and sees the dog but its not who it is chipped to.

I asked him where he got the dog and he said he found it on the side of the road 5 years ago and kept it. He and his family has had it for the five years and they really want it back. In the mean time the people who it is chipped to call us in tears because they have been missing the dog for 5 years, they still had his collar and tags and can not believe we have him.

This people is why you report ANY ANIMAL you find...who do you feel sorry for the people who lost their dog and came into the shelter almost everyday for a month, put signs up and put adding in the paper trying to find their dog, or the person who just found it decided that someone must be a bad owner and kept it, did not bother to call/take it to a shelter to find the owner or have it scanned for a chip, but have cared for the dog for 5 years and raised it with his family.

Damn it people no one was a winner in this 2 kids lost a family pet because some guy did not want to bring the dog to a shelter because all we do is kill animals, this all would have been simple if they just would have called us when they found him. STOP ASSUMING THAT BECAUSE AN ANIMAL IS RUNNING LOOSE THAT THEIR OWNER IS CRAP sometime accidents happen and pets get out and every time you pick up and animal and keep it without filing a report you could be taking someone pet, and think about someone doing that to your own pet.

AND DEAR GOD SHELTERS ARE NOT EVIL WE DO A LOT OF GOOD AND RETURN MANY PETS TO THEIR HOME AND FINE NEW HOMES FOR THE OTHERS.

So apparently last night, the show Travis did not have a show that he needed help with, he had a surprise graduation party for me at a castle no less. I was super surprised because in general I am clueless and being a sideshow freak really any excuse that he comes up with could really happen. Most of my family was there and lots of my friends which means the world to me, my best friend from high school and her parents were there and I got to see her and her new twins, I have not seen her since she got married over 10 years ago. And there was Red Velvet cake (my most favorite cake in the entire world).
It just shows that Travis is full of awesomeness!!! Today we may go to Findlay market for vegetarian gyros and the movies. Thanks to anyone was made the trip to the castle it meant the world to me.
