Yes all i seem to talk about is Burning man, I work too much currently to have many other interests.

So we are back to 6-7 in our caravan. Many others in the community are taking a pass this year with the economies here in Canada and in the US being on the down swing. Many sites are alerting people that the body count and art count at this year's burn might be down...i am fine with that... it was the people i met at the Burn last year that made the event for me.

I am actually going with some costumes this year which will make it even more enjoyable... i am debating on one though that I am not sure i would want photos of it posted and as well if a bunch of female hoopers would beat me senseless...lol. I was thinking on wearing the newly forming "uniform" many hoopers seem to be wearing more and more: fur leggings, booty shorts, brightly colored fabric dreadlocks on buns in a princess leia look, with a sign how hooping is becoming addiction and needing to save your friends and family. Maybe a story about how i got competitive and then injured myself, which lead to a path of steroid recovery hence why i have the body of a big stocky guy with a belly...any votes either way? lol

Looks like we are back up to 8 people for travel to the Burn, Laine is bringing a veteran burner friend and my new buddy Shawn is coming and a friend of his says she is interested. That will make the gas much more affordable and have some new thoughts to hear on the way down from some new people.

Spent the weekend working the garden on the farm, it is so therapeutic, it was a chill weekend and i started monday so relaxed.

Nothing too interesting party wise...go work Sanctuary at MoNo in a few weeks which will be good to visit a lot of people from Edmonton that i dont get to see much.

Met up with my friends this weekend that were out from the west coast, it was a great time. Got to talk some Burning man travel plans and am in full excitment mode now, 2.5 months til we go. Might een have some room if anyone needs a ride from up here to down there.... waiting for a couple friends to commit to coming.

Had a moment of enlightenment this weekend, just pure peace while driving home from seeing the new Star Trek movie, which was a great movie but not what gave me th enlightenment...lol... it was just perfect though were i was amazed by everything in existence.... now the key is to learn how to hold that space.

Sat was a great day, I took a psycrisis workshop and am going to work Sanctuary for a couple of parties this summer. It basically is a safe place for anyone having a pretty heavy trip time or just non drug blahs at the party. A lot of talk about "holding the space" and being accepting of the people and whatever is happening as long as they are not in need of medical attention.

Angels & Demons: so the g/f and I decided to go catch this flick last night and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot. It was a tad predictable in places but I love history and science so it really catered to me on that level. The other thing I liked about it was it was not a straight up attack on religion, it gave a message about science as well. I am not religious by any means but am spiritual and I notice that some scientists work to merge the two worlds. I find some of the atheist scientists I had read to be far too arrogant. I think as much as modern day religous groups need to be tempered with rationality, so do some of the science groups need to be tempered with humility. Many wars in our history have been started with religions but then fought with the weapons provided by science.

I just found out that SG is doing a live shoot and concert at a local bar in Calgary, unfortunately i just found out last night about it and am working so most likely won't be able to make it. I need to find on the site here if they have a listing of public appearances of the ladies so i might have known about this a few weeks ago.

Course if I had the spare cash to go I would be going to the Rancid/ Rise Against concert... so probably better to be working earning cash anyway...lol

Friday is here finally, which should mean sleeping in tomorrow but between sodding backyard, planting massive garden on farm and date at the golf driving range....will not be much rest... sometimes i hate being a grown up.

My Brother bought the new NOFX CD and had to phone me to play the song about Teagan and Sara...lol. The musical twins took it in stride as it was more about the singer being drunk and hitting on Teagan but Gay rights groups are pretty up in arms about it. I dont think i will get into that fight on here though...lol.

Two friends backed out of our Burning man trip, which sucks but I understand, they are not really ready for it and are instead heading to Italy for some Sun n Bass festival with some friends, I think they will have a better time in Italy this year anyway,

SO i have a new addiction......podcasts....I have listened to over 150 of the Viking youth power hour and even got discreetly mentioned on there for sending them some good Canadian whiskey, not that shit tasting CC or Royal reserve either....Now I am on podcast 70 out of 180 from the Psychedelic Salon which has some great Terence McKenna lectures. I think I will next check out some Berkley lectures which are on podcasts. I figure it is better then shitty radio or the same music over and over again or when i am doing mindless stuff at work. I wonder what school would be like for people if instead of sitting bored in a classroom for so much of your youth, if they could put the lectures on podcasts so you can be doing real things and learning... then how better would people do.

So a new friend pointed out it is hard to know anything about me when i dont have a blog or a profile..lol. Very true and so to abandon my creepy lurker ways I shall start a blog.

I tried to save profile settings 7 or 8 times and it is not working so i will do a quick bit in here.

I am male 11/29/72 living in Calgary, working with software in Oilfield. I am into shamanism, reading, writing, most things outdoors, bdsm, sports and Burning man to name a few. I have back tattoo and two on right shoulder which i will get pics of up soon.

I am on here looking for new friends as i spend much of my slow time at work on here and tribe.net or listening to lectures on my ipod. My girlfriend and I owe the bank for a dwelling they let us live in for a better part of the rest of my life.... sighhhh... until i can figure a way to break free of it and then get a lot of travelling in.

So far my only adventure planned for this summer is my second year at Burning man.
