Hi!! I'm back to the SG community. Apparently another friend of mine misses me so much he can't stand the idea I am not active here LOL.
In the news:
I have been working far a lot as a sound engineer, stage manager and roadie.
I have been playing a lot and I'm finishing some of my recordings...
I have been single for around 6 months now... and I'm looking for a girlfriend! And I'm a brunette now...
I'm trying to learn german and I have been studying a lot music, audio and doing many art-related research lately.
Life's good! ![]()
Oh gosh! I feel very happy, today is a holyday, we won't work at the studio tomorrow, so I have 4 days at home... well, sorta, cause I'll be at the nighclub for tonight, friday and saturday nights. But it is nice not to have to wake up early for a few days.
I had weeks full of puppies. One or two weeks ago someone left a box with five dog puppies inside at my home's street. I got desperate to help them and called like 10 different NGOs, sent emails to friends and displayes my cell phone number at the internet. But all was useless once that I knew about them on monday and when I got out to look for them at wednesday night they were gone. Somebody took them away with the box and everything. I could not bring them inside home cause one of my dogs is very aggressive and could harm the puppies. But I deeply hope they are ok.
I saw many animal protection organizations online to look for help, and they have such a wonderful job. I think I will volunteer to work at one soon.
And more puppies. My boyfriend's parents have a couple of Lhasa-Apsos, and he gave the female, Sophia, as a birthday gift to his mother like 2 years ago. We chose her together at the pet shop. And now they had babies!! It is like I'm a grandma!

Aren't them lovely? Well they look like baby rats but I think they're cute anyway.
I am working a lot at the studio, I am getting new job offers very often, and my bands are doing just fine. My girl band is changing the set list so we will take some time off stage, we will record a demo too. And my Metallica cover band will hit stage in a month or two. I feel so powerful screaming in front of a metal band! Plus as a singer( I don't play guitar at this band) I can get to dress up like a tranny and won't have to worry about if this shoe will be ok to step on the expression pedal. It is freedom!
Have I said I am lucky before? Well I am. Good things happen to me all the time. Remember my camera was stolen as my ipod at the awful attack I suffered a few months ago? Well I was coming back home from working late and I just found a digital camera at the subway, forgotten over a seat. I had no way to find out who it belonged to and if I took it to lost & found the person there would keep it, so I chose to keep it for me. I needed one desperatly. Now I bought the battery charger and I am just waiting for the data transfer cable to come from the mail so I can upload new pics. And I think I will think a cheap ipod around here.
This is the cam I found:

I have a new piercing too! Will post pics asap.
I have been reading and studying a lot, and getting to know many new things. I want to share some:
I am reading Interview with the Vampire, it is my first Anne Rice book and I love her style. Very intense and emotional.
I came across Ivonne Thein artwork, iit has a great concept to it and I think is totally related to Suicide Girls. Just check:

Last but not least I have been listening to California Guitar Trio a lot lately and they are extremely gifted musicians. Listen to 'sleepwalkers'. It is a soundtrack of a horror movie and it's creepy.
I am very happy, very busy, very confused about what to do next and I love life! Tomorrow is our Valentine's day and I have a wonderful boyfriend, so cheers!
xoxoxo

well time to update the with the news... Where should I start?
I have been doing mostly the same things as ever... My new Metallica cover band is doing well and I will be back onstage with my girl band soon...
two weeks ago I took a weekend of to the beach with my parent and my sister. We went to my uncle's house in Bertioga, that is in the Sao Paulo litoral, like two hours on the road to get there. The beach we went too looked like one of these wallpaper pictures from paradisiac beaches. It has the sea in front and one river at it's side that goes to the sea, and there was very few people in there... I got to go to the beach 3 days in a row and I needed it so much... I was so stressed from work and everything else...
A shame my cam was stolen, I took pics with my mother's cell phone:

Remember the fair I said I went to? I love these kind of events...
Pics:
With my friend Nanys, the singer at House of Ladies:

and at a deluxe and gifts stand:

(waaaaaaiting by the telephooone...)
Last week I went to my first Kung Fu & Tai Chi Chuan class. I think it will do well for me, to reach my inner balance. Unfortunatly yesterday I was going back to this class and there was this flood around the town and the subway stopped. It was chaos, but my boyfriend called me and when I told him what was happening he said to me to get to this house by a cab. And so did I.
when I get my new camera I will upload more pics.

I am very pissed. I was advertising my works on Linkedin, with this ad:
Hi!
I'll start a promotion for the next month. You send me your mixed song and I will master 15 seconds of it FOR FREE. If you like, we can talk about mastering the whole song/album. Try it! If you know any band who needs it, please forward!
Here there is a sample of my work
http://myspace.com/luanamoreno
then this jerk came along saying that I had no capability to do what I was advertising:
"I don't see any capacity or even facilities for mastering in any of your web links... exactly how will you accomplish this free "mastering"? "
I answered something like: " I master at home with plugins and check it at many places to hear if it sounds ok. Why is the word mastering quoted in dittos? This attitude brings the industry down. Is that the fear of competition?"
See how the guy answered me:
"I commented because everyone seems to be a mastering engineer these days... "mastering services" are being offered by clueless 14-years olds with Dells on their bedrooms right next experienced professionals, and frankly I'm tired of ill-equipped poseurs watering down the respectability of the craft.
Mastering is a process requiring a certain working environment so If someone doesn't have the proper acoustic space, equipment, and sufficiently-developed critical ear to properly perform mastering, then it isn't. Mastering doesn't come from a plug-in.
And incidentally, there's no fear of competition - Blue Bear Sound is a Recording Studio, NOT a Mastering House... there's a big difference. (And honestly, if you were a mastering engineer, you would have already known that.) I work with a very experienced and properly-equipped ME in Chicago for all my client's projects.
Thanks for playing. "
WHAT A JERK! This is the typical studio owner who stands behind his desk taking care of expenses and profits and doesn't record anybody. Just check his profile and you will see. I hate this kind of attitude, that is what brings our industry down, one professional saying bad things about the other just for the fear of losing his clients. You can own a big studio with tons of equipment and if you don't have the ear and talent and don't treat your clients right, THE PLUGINS WILL SOUND BETTER. I saw it way too many times and I am convinced.
plus he did wrote these things about me not being a mastering engineer and then deleted and wrote back a new version.
This is what I wrote him back:
"Well, poor you tired man, because technology will not cease to evolve and good results will keep on being delivered by professionals who haven't spent millions of dollars but have talent and ear, the kind of thing that cannot be bought. But I don't expect someone like you to understand that.
I heard a million times this speech about the equipment and the space and all that I have seen is that good professionals deliver good work.
Why don't you keep on with your work and let other people do the same? If you took a look at where I work at and even listened to anything before criticize, I would maybe listen, but prejudice is a hard thing to move over. Oh, and all the comments you have deleted came to me by email. If you are not enough of a human being to stand for what you write at first, don't expect anyone to respect your opinions as a professional.
Take care of your own business.
and I am deleting this discussion, it is not my intention to take shit from any judgemental 'studio owner' who doen't respect other people or their work. I am not a 14 year old to waste my time on internet discussions or trying to bring other people down, I rather work instead.
before I forget, fuck you, pig."
by the way, this is the client page in his studio:

do you see any names you know?
now check the studio I work for:

at the portfolio page. Do you know Angra? Shaman? Seal? Ever heard of the brazilian carnival? Faith no More? The Wailers? Have you heard about the Rolling Stones show in the Rio de Janeiro beach?
and I am not even talking about the brazilian ones.
This is where I wok. We master with plugins. I learned with these guys and now I do my masters at home.
So where's the results, on the equipment or on the professional?

Sorry i have been away for a while, I am super busy! I was an extra in two TV works last week, one was an MTV series that will be released in July, called "Descolados" and another was the smirnoff commercial. I have tons of work in the studio (thank gods!) and have been at the club too. Both the extra works were very nice, I met very interesting people like this lovely girl who was a hostess at one of my favorite clubs and is planning to become an SG photographer and very talented performers, actors and singers.
At the club I saw some really nice bands at thursday and saturday, and at friday I saw probably the worst performance ever.
The nice ones were:
Lotus
and these guys rule, they have an amzing energy and their dancer is hot:
220 Ska Bar
and this was awful
Tony da Gatorra
stay tuned so you won't go in case he is performing. I mean it, seriously.
I rehearsed with both bands at the weekend and it went all well, and yesterday I went to this wine and cachaca fair.
and it was delicious and very funny.

I want a new camera so I can take more pics! Can anybody buy one for me at the USA and send me? They are a lot cheaper!

Well, I have been away for some time, got sick twice in the last two weeks and have been working a lot!
I got but to rehearse with my band, House of Ladies (add us!!), and god how much I missed it! I love these girls, they are the best friends one could have. And I have a new band too! We will perform Metallica covers and from other bands too, and I got to sing!
I also had a new work with sinnerdeevee, mastered one more of the albums he recorded and I will soon upload a new song from it at my myspace. I went to a casting with some friends, and got to meet in person the lovely Sweetie. She's absolutely adorable.

also in this picture are the singer in my band, Nanys Sette; a great guitar player that is a friend of ours, Max Hanzo; this great photographer and model, Tatiane Brito and the beautiful punk rock drummer Fernanda from the band Final Fight.
I also spent some nights working at Funhouse and the lovely DJ Vanessa Porto took this pic with me:

Well, these are the news for now. Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

You wanted the best, you got the best!
They played around here this tuesday and I went there to see the show. It was amazing, a fucking lesson on how a great rock'n'roll spectacle should be. They brought it all: Gene spit blood and sang from upon the stage, Paul flew over the crowd, the drums rose in the air, there was fire and fireworks and everything. More than 30.000 people got there to check it out. They deserve all the money they have;

In addition, I am very sensitive and over reacting to anything I find aggressive, but other than that everything is fine. I miss my band, I want to rehearse again as soon as we can. My face is looking better already. I need a new ipod and a new camera. Can anyone but them at the US and send me? They are a lot cheaper than here.
Oh, and I wish a happy easter for you all:

translation: left bunny "Somebody bite my ass!"

Well, the party was really nice and many people got there... I got back to the studio on monday and I missed it. I'm getting my life back on tracks. The scars will heal and I'm seeing a therapist. My demo will be recorded, my band will make shows and I am going back to modeling as soon as I look better. And I will record many great bands!
I mastered a really funny punk rock band last month, they released their album already. check at

Happy Birthday to Me!!
I surely deserve it. I'll be partying in here http://funhouse.com.br/ from 11 pm. All SG members near are welcome! You will recognize me for the hat, since the scar is not healed yet, and from the glasses. If you don't just ask any bartender who I am, I work at the place and everybody knows me.
Oh, and my Wishlist is there for everyone to see
thanks to all the community and crew for the support and love
