great existential thinkers on....

filling out my favorite music / film is really hard because your mood dictates what you might want to watch or listen to at any given moment. that said, i tried to compile a diverse list of pretty solid stuff. however, too far in that direction and you end up with a list that includes both "gummo" and "air bud" (don't get me wrong, i appreciate a talented basketball playing golden retriever as much as the next fellow).
okay, this is just a long winded way of saying here are a few movies i really liked.
-chopper ( an over-looked film that manages to make you cringe at the same time that you are laughing. a pretty great film)
-life aquatic (bill murray is endlessly watchable and you really can't beat a bowie soundtrack sung in spanish)
-capturing the friedmans (best documentary of that year).
-croupier (clive owen pic)
-american spendor (one of the best break up scenes of the last decade)
-sexy beast (really, a great love story)
rushmore...
till next week...i will announce my favorite cheeses. i'm looking at you mozzarella
