Right...
So last night the much awaited sgu / sga crossover went live on Syfy. While I love SGU in general this episode was of interest to me. Last year (around June) I announced on twitter that I would be writing an SGA / SGU crossover months before the SGU writers thought about it. The result of that announcement was a very interesting talk with a few writers from the SGU show (among many more messages from SGA fans). Anyhows, in the end they stated that they were looking forward in seeing my end result as a 2 part episode screenplay.
I began to write it, but my health issues made me pause it and every other project I was working on. A few weeks later SyFy announced a crossover between stargate atlantis and stargate universe featuring Rodney. Now I have to say, that made me decide NOT to finish my own version, as it would be non cannon. So instead I decided to wait for this episode to air. And boy was I disappointed.
There are some similarities between my version and theirs, for example it has Rodney figuring out a supply line to destiny. The main difference between mine and theirs is that mine is set entirely on the destiny itself. Plus (and here it comes) mine doesn't have plotholes you can drive a truck through.
Plotholes you say? Yes big plotholes. As it hasn't been aired around the world yet I will explain those plotholes in detail in a coming blog post. After seeing this very poorly written episode I have decided that I will pick up my version, rewrite it so it falls within the current state on board destiny and whack on the internet. I don't consider myself a "very good" writer but I am sure that I will make it at least more interesting than the version that just aired. And that ends my rant about SGU.
So what else is new? Well, I am finally finding my way around this site and I already had some very nice interactions with a few SG's, and you know who you are! Though right now Setsuka is the one I talk the most to. She's actually a very sweet and gentle person and not to mention simply adorable. I never expected that my picture creations would be liked by the SG's in them. But they do like them and it's always nice when people like and appreciate your work, makes one smile . I decided that I will have some of them placed on canvas, and if ever find my way to a convention or in the general area of those SG's, I will give them said canvas "creations". That is...if I can get them through customs -__-
