Volcanic ash cloud has a silver lining.

Two and a half hours into my return flight from my 2 week holiday in Mauritius we were turned around and sent back to the airport. 6 days later we were back on the same plane and flying to an airport that was closed. Luckily UK air space re-opened 15 minutes before we were due to land making us the 2nd plane back at Heathrow. I feel so lucky to be back knowing thousands of people are still stranded. Good luck kids, hope you all make it back quickly and safely.

Being stranded in paradise is not as nice as it sounds. It was fucking stressful not knowing from one minute to the next how or when we were going to get home. I do have a nice tan though.

It was worth it for the party on the plane home. 12 hours locked in a flying pub with my new best friends. Priceless.
