So my car died on me today. At the most perfect time, of course. This would be at 430 am, while I'm trying to start it so I can drive from West Hollywood to Santa Monica to open my store at 5 am. Gross. Terrible. I had to take a 34 dollar cab ride in order to make it on time (I did!) and then spent the entire day stressing about everything I would have to do as soon as I made it home. If I made it home. That was the first part... who, in this city where I know so little people, would be willing to pick me up and drive me home (which can often take up to an hour)? ( A coworker came and got me)
Then I had to join AAA in order to get a tow truck to come pick me up. I was parked in a neighborhood, sandwiched between cars. Getting it out was fun. They towed it to a local shop because I'm not taking it to the Chevy dealership ever again (they quoted me 1200 for a new timing chain, said it was absolutely fine to drive and that I'd probably be able to drive for a few weeks before getting it fixed). Then I had to rent a car. Of course, I'm not even sure how long I need a rental for but considering I work at 5 am tomorrow, then close Friday (which means I get out at midnight), I have it until Saturday afternoon.
Please, everyone, cross your fingers for me. I'm not sure how I'll be able to afford this. I may need help. It's awful. I like to do things on my own, and I've been taking care of myself since I was 14. (That's over half my life)...
And that's my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
