So the most commonly asked question of me:
What are you studying?

The quick and dirty answer is change blindness.
Imagine you're looking at a picture. Now imagine that while you're looking at it I change something about it...
you'd notice eh?
I bet you'd have to look at the change a few times before you'd see it... (sometimes on the order of 100 times...)

Here's a link to some demos that'll fuck you up!
http://www.psych.ubc.ca/~rensink/flicker/download/
(Seriously though, if you're epileptic they WILL fuck you up, so don't look.)

Cheers kiss

Ok, I know it's been SOOOOOO long since I updated my journal.
I'm going to be more prepared to write stuff soon...
I'm just writing my thesis... and it's taking so long... But I only have about two weeks left until it's due... Then I hand it in and get to relax...

About Thursday...
So thanks to some really bad directions, I ended up walking for about an hour and a half in the -30 degree weather. It was REALLY cold. Just as I was contemplating digging a hole in the snow to try to sleep in or at least warm up in, a bus pulls up beside me. (note: I had no idea there was a route along that road. I had actually tried calling a cab but they wouldn't send anyone because I was in the middle of nowhere, with no address)
"Is there a bus stop there?" The driver asks.
"I love you" I replied.
I got on the bus, sat down and the bus driver turns around and says, "Your lips are blue. Are you cold?"
*nod* *shiver*
At this point I'm shaking so violently from the chills that I'm scaring small children.
It didn't occur to me until about 45 mins later that I should figure out a) what bus I'm on, and b) where it goes...
Finally make it home about an hour after that. I haven't warmed up AT ALL. So I crawl into the bathtub. The water I drew for myself that felt warm enough to crawl into but not so hot I would scald myself turned out to be really cold water. Had to add warm water 5 times to slowly bring it up to a luke warm bath. (But it felt like it was boiling me alive)
Thursday was crappy.

OH NO!
I was supposed to get up early and walk with my good friend to the bus depot this morning at like 6am. She's leaving me already. I woke up at 8 with severe abdominal cramps and flipped because I don't remember my alarm going off at 5:45 like it was supposed to. frown
I feel like shit. Both emotionally and physically this morning...

Well yesterday was the day from hell...
If I had time now to update I would, as it stands it'll have to wait til another time...
I do promise to share the story though...
It ends with me freezing (with blue lips even) trying desparately to get warm in a tub of luke warm water that's burning my flesh, completely disoriented...

Finally back home and wow! So many new sets to catch up on!! Synnove, Elara... Mmm

Stupid people make me CRAZY.
So I'm sitting in Psycholinguistics class. (3rd year class) The prof is talking about the nature-nuture debate (Again. This is the oh... 20th course where we've talked this stuff) We're discussing what it means for something to be innate. My take on the whole thing is this: if you put an infant in a room, alone and wait, the infant will just teach itself to do stuff, like walking, these things are completely innate.
Contrast this to something that is completely learned - like... statistics.
One of the boys in my class decided that driving a car is completely innate, "once you've learned how to do it." Uhh innate vs learned is the distinction we're trying to make here... I understand that he probably doesn't know what the word innate means, in that case he should have stayed out of the discussion, not signed up for a third year linguistics course or well... I can think of plenty of horrible things to suggest to the boy.
*sigh* Oh well, there's one in every class... I'm just glad I can spot him, cause honestly, if there's on really stupid person in every class, and all of your classmates are brilliant, it's you.

Back to the daily grind. This semester's looking pretty cool. I've got some interesting courses and profs. I think I'm a little scared though, cause if I finish this semester without any major fuck-ups I get to graduate! Me, a university graduate?? What will I do?? eeek

New year. Nothing new besides that though.
I go home the day after tomorrow. I miss everyone so much!
I packed my stuff today, turns out it WILL all fit. (I was concerned I had bought too much) I even have some room... Maybe I'll go shopping tomorrow... tongue
The weather here turned sour the past few days. It's been all rainy. There's been nothing to do. At all.
Cheers!
