It depends on the situation and what I'm looking at - sometimes there are clear definitions or at least some sort of reference to use as a starting point, but other times there isn't anything. When there is nothing out there I follow the standard of "the best I can reasonably be expected to do" considering the situation and the facts that I knew at the time. That's not always easy to define and requires taking a hard analytical look at things but it's great when it works.
All that aside I'm trying to define success in my own terms, what I like, what I want, what I think is success. I'm trying to separate out the definitions that are pre existing in my mind that are simply there because it's what society considers success or the right thing to do - things that are there but I don't agree with (the definitions from society that I agree with are being kept).
Going the places I wanna go, and seeing the people I wanna see without worrying baout where the money's coming form or the phone rining off the hook pointing out I haven't been worrying about where the monies coming from.
I'm well aware that money isn't everything, and I am definitly part of my generation that's not going to out earn my parents. But 'Freedom' as I know it takes a certain amount of cash flow to make happen.
