My Mom is coming to town Sept 11-15. I'm SO excited! I haven't seen her in several months. (Honestly, this is the longest period of time I've ever gone without seeing my Mom.)
Since she'll be in town over a weekend, mydogfarted's Dad is planning the baby shower for that Sunday. (Not Saturday because some of the family are quite Jewish.)
Unfortunately this clashes with an SG event so most of the people I WANT to come won't be able to make it frown We are debating the merits of switching to the Saturday (but there's another SG event on the Saturday) or picking completely different date to do a friends - no family - event. Maybe we'll even do it at a juice bar...

I'm getting more exhausted by the day. Today I have the kids for 8 hours! I don't know how I'm going to do it.

We close on the house a week from tomorrow! I have huge plans to put in a new floor in the nursery within the week that follows. Now to mention painting etc etc. I was thinking I might write my (and other people's) hopes and wishes for the baby on the walls before I paint them as a sort of good luck charm. What do you think of the idea? Would you want me to include something from you?

Is this a different house than the one where the guy was being a wiener-head and not lowering the price? *stands next to loop, looking in*

I think writing all that is a great idea!

I hope to someday have a house again myself, I miss that personal space.

So, are you guys going to make it out this way sometime after the baby comes?

It sounds like you have so much work to do and you're so pregnant! How do you have the energy to get up every day?

Have a friend's only shower this way you won't have to worry about the different personalities getting along.

I think the writing is a wonderful idea!

This is what I'd put on my babies walls...if they were babies again!

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

I think writing things is a super idea!! smile My brother & his wife did clouds on the wall in my niece's room and wrote things like "mommy loves you" "daddy's girl" etc. in wispy letters so it looked like clouds spelled it out!

writing things on the walls is a neat idea - you should do it. take pictures before you paint though so you can preserve what's written.

id have to think of something - since i would want to include a note from myself...

That's pretty cool that you would let your friends put a piece of themselves (through words, that is) on your wall like that. That way, as we go forth w/ our lives, you'll have a lasting memory of the present and the people in it. So sentimental and appealing...
