COLUMBUS!!! I always have the best time in this city, and I am currently looking for jobs and apartments so I can make it a permanent home-away-from-home, rather than just spending too much money to travel there once a month. So here's how my amazing Wednesday trip there played out:
When I arrived on Wednesday evening, my friend Luke Toney came and picked me and my friend up at the hotel and took us to Surly Girl, where I got to meet the BEAUTIFUL Allisa and Sunshine and also Durb! They were wonderfully kind and engaging, and hopefully on my next trip up, I'll be able to sneak in a shoot
From there, we went directly to Ace of Cups for the Skeletonwitch show, and it was every bit as amazing as I had expected since first hearing the band quite some time ago. Also awesome was the fact that I was up front with one foot on the stage headbanging for the entire set!
Oh yeah, did I mention that I walked up to meet Chance Garnette (the singer), and he called me "Miss Chapstick" since he follows me on instagram?! Talk about dying from excitement.
So while I am taking the above picture, a guy yells out "KelseyChapstick!!!! Come do a shot!" So I turn around, and it's Jason Phillips from Bringers of Disease, whom I'm also IG buddies with, and we spend the night getting plastered with a ton of people after the show and having pretty much the most amazing time ever.
So eventually we decide to call it a night, and my travel companion Mike drives us in Luke's truck back to the hotel, and we figure out a way to stumble up three floors and pass out cold. The next morning, I am woken up by a text from Jason asking us to come eat brunch at the bar he works at, on him. How could anyone refuse that?
This was at Barrell 44, btw. Lovely place, delicious food and drinks. Plus, Jason's Bloody Marys are pretty spectacular
So all in all, I'm ready to come back right now. I looove Columbus, and the people in it are pretty incredible. I woke up to a fantastic text this morning from my new friend inviting me back, so from December 1st to the 6th, it looks like I'll be tearing the town up some more. I can't wait
P.S. Go let this handsome fella serve you food and drinks, and tip him all your monies!

My friend drug my godless heathen ass to a special mass with him, so I broke out my best Jezebel lipstick.Road trip to Cbus to see these guys in November. Who wants to tag along/meet up for some food before the show?
I had the most amazing weekend of my life in Columbus seeing Fiona Apple and dancing at Heat Wave and getting lost until 5am walking around the city with the love of my life and eating breakfast at a table next to Jack White and going to the zoo and eating at Dirty Frank's with my best friends and some new friends...I could go on. The best part? I go back in just over a month to get tattooed by my boyfriend's buddy Chris Carter as a birthday present. Hopefully I can catch the Skeletonwitch show at Ace of Clubs while I'm in town!
