Now that i'm home again...its awesome. But having said that, it's hard to get used to not having a ton of personal space. My wife is always around and i can't check SG whenever i want! she's super insecure, so it's not nice. I miss my SG land smile

<3 you guys!

Leaving iraq tomorrow! doesn't really seem real though. I guess it'll sink in when we're in kuwait and its 10 degrees hotter (so 130 instead of 120) with their famous gale force winds blowing dirt clods in our eyes. At least i should be home within a week!

So it's the last week in Iraq. We've switched to the nocturnal cycle. This is night one. I'm trying to stay awake, its 0400 and its becomming difficult. I might have to go to the gym and work out or something to stay awake. I can't play bass since everyone else is asleep, and i just beat Mass Effect 2 for the 3,000th time.

UGH! let's just get out of here so we can go home! Im tired of dust, heat, shit stink, death stink, burning garbage stink, mediocre food, and arab BO.

Two weeks...that's 14 days left in iraq. Then i get to spend lord knows how long waiting in kuwait to get home...but whatever. I would say it's been a long year, but it feels like it's gone by rather quickly.

Got promoted this month. It's still weird being called "Captain". I guess i have plenty of time to get used to it. Too bad i couldnt have made CPT before deploying, that would have been sooooo much more money. Oh well, at least one month of CPT pay is better than nothing.

Looking forward to getting back home. Can't wait to get back to Montana for a visit.

As of late i have been finding myself doing a reality check on how my life is in America. The thing that really set that off was seeing that Congress has decided that they need to investigate if restrooms are REALLY equal between the genders. My first thought was: “Really? Who cares? They are wasting my tax dollars on if women have a nicer crapper than men?”

But then it hit me.

In America, we have it SO good that it is a priority for our national leaders to study Toilet Equality. Other countries, not so much. In Iraq, the government can’t even decide how to seat itself. The Iraqi government even has a Department of Corruption, which “investigates” alleged cases of corrupt officials. There still isnt power to everyone in the country, fresh water is still an issue, national infrastructure is still budding. Add to this the whole problem of terrorist actually carrying out attacks and killing people, and maybe just maybe you can grasp the situation.

To borrow a quote from Gladiator: “The mob is fickle brother. He will be forgotten in a month.” This quote wholly rings true with the average American. If it doesn’t directly affect the individual, they don’t care. It really saddens me that 95% of Americans (yeah i made that up) will never even visit another country to see what other countries are like. You really fail to appreciate what you have until you see what its like without it.

People who feel they are entitled money from the government, government housing, health care, government food subsidies etc, really are just incredibly selfish people. In America, all the barriers to your success have been removed. You even have literally millions and millions of organizations out there to help you out to succeed. No other place in the world do you have a greater opportunity make something of yourself.

Just think, you could be in Iraq, a Christian, just minding your own business going to mass, and someone could detonate a suicide vest (yes it happens ALL the time) and end your life, period. Or you could have a child with chicken pox, who subsequently develops an infection and dies from staph, because there is no health care available for you to have for free.

Check please?

We really need some more zombie movies. I watched Dawn of the Dead again yesterday, and it just didn't quite hit the spot. Today i'm watching Zombieland, it's a step up since you know...i haven't seen it about nine thousand times. But why...why bill murray would you fake being a zombie?! Damnit!!! You can't be doin that shit in zombieland!

I like zombie flicks. they are always good ones with lots of zombie slaying, guns, and typically a few hotties. Plus they prepare you for the inevitable zombie apocalypse. You can never have enough guns and ammo!

As i was sitting here smoking a nice box pressed Nica Libre, it donned on me...cigars are like sex.

First you slide the clothing off, it just peels off like a one piece dress over the head of a fine woman. Then underneath there's the brands that have to come off in order for it to be ready...

It starts off nice and smooth then you begin to slowly work your way up the body....silky, fresh, exciting. The longer it goes on the more robust the experience. The flavor starts to seep in starts to get hot, heavy, burning down to your fingers, filling your mouth with a firing sensation until it's finally too hot to handle and culminates in fireball until its over.

But im not a really awesome writer...but yeah, sex, cigars...sweetness.

i have been watching the seasons of The Tudors. King Henry VIII was a bastard. The man was absolutely nutty in his head. He was unreliable, deceitful, and basically a huge asshole. Its amazing that no one just shanked him.

On that note, i'll be heading home in a week for leave. i really can't wait!
