The world didn't end on the night of the solstice; "the" apocalypse didn't happen in 2012. However, to paraphrase Max Payne, there were personal apocalypses everywhere. Hopefully everyone who could make it through theirs did, and will be able to take a deep breath on New Year's Eve with the knowledge a fresh page awaits.
