Holy crap, time just crawls by as I go through my day, and then when I look and see that my last blog was October, it feels like it flew by. Video games will consume your life if they're what you spend every free minute on, kids. Well, not much has happened in my life, really: I worked on Halloween, and stayed in town with family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This past week put 2015 off to a great start, though.
Saturday, my sister finally got married. 26 and two kids, and she ended up marrying a guy who we all went to church with growing up. Friday we spent all day decorating for the wedding and reception, but we couldn't tell how wonderful it looked until Saturday afternoon and evening. There was one hiccup during the wedding, but other than that everything went perfectly.
I didn't think I would cry, but I did, and I'll admit it. I mean, I wasn't sobbing or anything, but tears of joy definitely fell through the whole ceremony. Those two are great for each other, and they'll make a lovely family.
Every minute outside of the ceremony, though, I was wishing I could rip that tuxedo off. How do people wear those things? The shoes hurt to stand on for any significant amount of time, and the tux itself is paper-thin and restricts range of motion. I just wasn't born to dress up. But, hopefully it's her only wedding, so I went out and got a professional haircut and properly shaved my face.
My sister's now the only one of us who's married, so that leaves me and our older brother. He's got a head start, though, since he's engaged and they have a kid and live together. They're planning on getting married on May 4th, for Star Wars reasons, so it's really just me, and I'm not even out dating. But honestly, I'm not concerned with it at all, especially since I'm planning on still working overseas in May, but obviously after my brother's wedding. So I'll be here, playing my vidya games while everyone around me gets engaged and married, and I'm okay with that.
