I am taking the last final of my undergraduate career in 1 hour! Then on to graduation...then back to school 10 days later. Well at least I will have a break for 10 days, then it is just 5 or so more years of college *sigh* 
I suppose it has been awhile so I will blog again...
I guess i don't blog often because not much happens in the life o' jasncat. Still in school trying to get my tutor certification out of the way so I have more things to put on my applications for Ph.D programs. I do have a new tattoo so I guess that is fun times (although it dropped all of the color and I have to go get a touch-up after it is healed) but I guess that is the nature of the beast with knuckle tattoos..

I am excited, we are leaving here in a bit. Bummer thing is I have to write a paper that is due tomorrow by 5 while I am at the shop. It well may be the first Eliot close read written in a tattoo shop...then again?
Anywhoo I am going to try and get pictures of the whole thing and have a little "tattoo adventure" photo album since a few of us are going up today...

I have finished making Halloween costumes! Oh man oh man is it going to be hilarious! lets just say lots of grommets and fake leather. I am pretty sure I may have carpel tunnel from setting so many grommets, but it will be well worth it. Now that I have learned this skill, I am, however going to try and make a corset for myself so we will have to see how that goes...tattoos in a week, checked my appointment yesterday, 11:30 next Thursday! 
Yeah! tattoo appointment set for the 16th!! I am really excited since this will be the first piece of my full body tattoo theme I have decided on. I am doing a very filigreed heart shaped lock with crescent moons on either side to start my gypsy/tarot style project. I am also sitting down with Quinton (the tattoo artist) while I am there to start spacing my back piece! I am pretty excited to get it finished here in the next 2 years or so. I already know I have at least 6 sittings once I get it started so that should make the timing work out nicely. Huzzah for new tattoos.
GENTLEMEN...BEHOLD!! My second blog ever.
I just found out my mom is going to Ireland on Thursday. This is crap, I understand that she is going with my dad (who is Irish) but still I WANNA GO TOO!! It is the land of my ansestors (and aunts and uncles) and I have never been. Yeah, Yeah I am 25 and past the age of family vacations but I am still jealous! She did however promise to bring me a Pouges shirt in Gaelic so I guess that will do. I suppose I just have to relish in the 10 days in Paris I am spending next summer (I did learn Irish and not french though) Looking to start boob-lock tattoo in the next week or so and I will post pics when I get it done...to answer a question, Yes I am an English Major. I am lit not education with a focus on Medieval literature and a study of the English language as a whole. (I have a burning desire to live in a box under a bridge!)

So congratulations suicide girls you are the proud recipient of my very first blog.
So what do people blog about these days anyway? I have little excitement in my life these days that is not related to my relentless march for graduation. I have been in college for too long and I still have about 6 years left of graduate work...I start my masters program next year and will start teaching my freshman classes then as well, ah the joy of freshman comp. The delicious irony of this being my first blog is that I am working on my undergrad senior thesis and it is about how the blog is working to replace other types of written media...(don't want to give away too much this is shaping up to be dissertation material! ) Well I suppose I have some tattoo news, I am planning on getting a lock and moons done just under my boob/sternum area and also begin the work on my back piece. I have finally found what I am looking for to frame out the bottom part of it and start on the sides of my hips where it will wrap. The super awesome (and great buddy of mine) Q from Southtown tattoo in Fort Smith will be doing the work so as soon as I get a freaking free day I am going to get that show on the road.
