Wow. The holidays were rolling up to my door just fine and they brought the plague with them
Fortunately I'm on the mend now but I swear I was asleep more hours than I was awake over the last week.
It started on Monday and I knew I had something when I lifted my head to turn off my alarm so I called in sick to work, I didn't want to be sick all the way until Christmas, so I figured I'd stay in bed and recover a little faster. By that evening I was feeling a little better, and my pal gave me a call and invited me to join he and his girlfriend for dinner - and mentioned my ex might be showing up.
For some reason I decided that, poor health notwithstanding, this would be a good opportunity to tie up loose ends and figure out where we stand with each other since I hadn't seen or heard from her outside of a couple of relatively meaningless, cordial phone conversations in about 6 months.
So we had a few drinks, shared a dessert, then all 4 of us went to go play pool, and she ended up back at my place.
Not sleeping at all that night probably had a detrimental effect on my health, as I left work early the next day and slept 16 hours the following 'night', 12 the night after that, and 14 the night before last. I think I'm pretty much back to normal, except for the grogginess and congestion.
Hopefully I'll be able to go to the gym tomorrow for an hour or so at least - I hate falling out of routine.
