Yesterday I had one of the most amazing, sensual and uplifting experiences of my life - I got shaved professionally. I swear it actually made me happy to be male.
I'll run you through the process...
First I had to find somewhere, cos true male barbering is a dying art (and I dont use that word lightly...). When I found 'jacks of london' I was offered a beer and if id had to have waited they had many good magazines and games consols to peruse on their leather sofas.
My barber Anton took me over to my chair and gently talked me through what he was going to do. Firstly he placed a piece of cotton over my eyes and clippered my (pretty shit) beard down. Then brushed me off. Then he put a aloe vera scented oil over my chops to help the razor glide, then covered me with shaving foam, with a brush that felt like it was made of soft cat fur. He then put a very hot towel over my face to open the pours. After resting the towel on me for a couple of minutes he added more cream and began shaving. He did it tiny section by tiny section with just the most miniscule of repetative movement. After shaving me down he then moisturised my face with something that smelt of mint imperials and covered my face in a cold towel to close the pours over again.
If you ever find somewhere that offers a traditional shave - have one.

Thanks for the friend request, it's good to meet you. PS - the brush was probably badger hair
