I just downloaded "Gorilla Manor," one of the more recent albums put out by the Local Natives, and I'm already enjoying it quite a bit. I've also been listening to Freelance Whales' album "Weathervanes" over and over, I can't help it! They're reminiscent of the Postal Service, but with a slightly more upbeat, pop-y sound.
I've been in such a strange mood lately; I'm going back and forth between craving company and really just not wanting to be around people at all. I've also been having extremely vivid dreams the past couple weeks, whereas normally I either don't dream or just don't remember my dreams. A theme that seems to be present throughout all of them is having a difficult time walking (not a physical inability to do so, but other things like mud, flimsy footwear, etc., stop me). They don't evoke feelings of fear, but rather desparation and, to some degree, confusion. Maybe it's my subconscious trying to tell me to take charge of what I want in my waking life? To stop being so indecisive and take a chance?

Mmm, herbal tea + a massage = just what I needed today. It was sooo relaxing. I've still got a great deal of work to get done before the end of the week, but rather than feeling stressed out about it as usual, I feel recharged enough to tackle most of it. Some friends invited me to a party tonight, but I'm not sure that I'm up for loud noise and alcohol tonight, even though I haven't been out in awhile. I feel like such an old lady sometimes, haha. I do enjoy the occasional night of craziness, but for the most part I'm really more of a homebody who enjoy is perfecting content with some stimulating conversation and being cozy. zoom image

I'm about half way through "The Only Revolution" by Krishnamurti, and it has definitely given me a lot of interesting things to think about. After that, I'll probably start "Being and Nothingness" by Jean Paul Sartre, which I ordered on Amazon a few weeks ago, but haven't had the time to start yet. Classes are leaving me feeling really burned out this semester! I'm spread a little too thin and am in desperate need of some time to just relax and take care of myself. I scheduled a massage for tommorow afternoon & am really looking forward to it.
Also, I just figured out where I'm living next year! Though I really like my current apartment, the house I'll be moving to is much more spacious and I'll have a lot more freedom to decorate my room as I please since my landlord will be my friend's father. Anyone have any ideas on decorating smallish spaces in a classy way? I'm thinking something between eclectic and chic...zoom image
