After being gone for a year or so, I'm back. Gonna give SG another whirl. Yada yada, hey hey.

Sometimes life really has a tendency to kick you when you are down. Today is the kind of day where I hate life. frown

I don't know what the heck we are doing for the wedding, but I do know that the boy and I are going to be wearing matching vegan white creepers. Awwww. How cute. wink Now if I could just find a dress that fits a skinny little, flat-chested girl like me. biggrin

Well we finally made the engagement official. Sorry for the blury pic. I can think of a million and one neat ways to get married, but I hate planning. Vegas sounds better and better all the time. biggrin

Long time no update. I am now full time at the university. Yay. My car blew up (not yay), but I got a new one. Double yay! Just wondering where to go from here. Not sure that San Diego is right for us. But where to go? Back to our old home? Hawaii? Costa Rica? Who knows. But hopefully soon we will figure it out.

I got a tooth pulled on Tuesday. I was scared shitless. They gave me a pill to calm my nerves and in no time the tooth was out. I am actually kind of proud of myself for not freaking out. It was one of my wisdom teeth and I can honestly say that I was in WAY more pain before I got it yanked than I am now. That is pretty much it for my update. And big thanks to those of you who left kind words in my last journal. It was very nice.

My dad called me this morning to tell me that my grandmother passed away last night. I feel quite devastated. I was speachless, as was he. As sad as I was, I couldn't help but think that my father is now parentless. He is now an orphan of sorts and I think that is the saddest part of all. She lived to see her 90th birthday and for that I am happy. She lived alone and cared for herself until the day she left this world and she was fortunate to have had a sharp mind all her years. She loved her independence although she dearly missed my grandfather who passed away 17 years ago. I am thankful that she lived a quality life. I am just sad that it had to end. I will miss you Noni! frown

San Diego is really losing its novelty. I am getting increasingly sick of living here. The weather is nice and it is nice to have a beach near by, but the positives seem to end there. There are constantly airplanes flying overhead, there is always someone shooting off fireworks year-round at all hours of the night (which totally scares my dog shitless and wakes us up as well), people have no respect for one another, the traffic is a nightmare, everyone seems to be a dick, people walk right through our yard and often steal our things, housing prices are unreal and even with a pretty decent paying job I still cannot afford anything other than a tiny ass condo (whcih often do not allow pets, so I couldn't buy one anyway). All-in-all the only practical advantage it has over where we used to live is better paying jobs, but that doesn't help much when you still can't afford a place to live. At least where we used to live we could own a home. Ugghhh. If it wasn't for friends and family (here and where we used to live) I think I would have already moved out of this country all together. I'd rather be poor and live somewhere where people actually give a shit about how they treat one another. It is odd how hard my great-grandparents worked to get to this country and make a life for my grandparents and here I am seriously wanting to move back to Italy and be with my cousins there.

It is the same old, same old here. Just got back from a trip to San Jose, CA. Flying in a little ass commuter plane really makes me feel scared. I think it is the sudden realization that humans were never meant to be that far up in the air. That and the Mythbusters episode that showed how damn thin that metal is.

Oh and if you were wondering... I did break down and buy a Macbook Pro. It was pricey, but I love it! And now my dad can have my old pc. Hopefully it will serve him well.
