So, I was at work yesterday doing inventory. A co-worker of mine was also working on it and said to me "Why do we have so many Harry Potter books?" I said "Well, because its popular and it gets kids and adults to read".
This was her rant: Well, I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and think anything promoting witchcraft should be banned.

Now, I knew to cut the conversation off right here. I was at work and knew what would happened if I said anything bad about our lord and savior. But I thought to myself if you are firm in your beliefs, then why work for a company that sells porn, horror fiction and kids books about witchcraft that you think is wrong. I know this debate is nothing new but once again it backs up my philosophy-We may all live on the same planet but we live in many different worlds.

I worked at Waldenbooks on Maui and the assistant manager was a friend of mine but also disapproved of a LOT of the books we sold (and most of the books I ordered). I just assumed she liked to mouth off about it, but that was the extent of her moral compunction. If she really cared, she wouldn't be working there.

my sister is a conservative christian and a huge harry potter fan, who stand in line at barnes and noble to get her latest harry potter.

point is: she is a GODFREAK, but knows that there is a different between fantasy and her god's will. witchcraft might be a common theme in the book, but it's a FICTIONAL book.

And don't worry about her, if she thinks this world is odd, wait till she dies and sees MOST of us so called sinners in heaven with her! Is she ever going to be pissed!

And I'm sure she's never worked on Sunday before.

Does she believe that men are the creators of life? That they have the sacred seed; the gift of life? Some still have strong views about it. Next time, sing while you inventory.
