I am dead tired today. Saturday I hammered out 9 photo shoots in one day, including me as a model.
I can't wait to get those images back for Zivity. I got to see a few of them on the back of the camera and it was sooo pretty. I did a wet set in my big soaker tub with natural lighting. So freaking awesome! We wanted to do some water toss shots but the speed of my hands was too much so we got Dougie to stand over top of me and dump water on my head. It was so pretty seeing the light capture the water and make it glisten.
Here is a shot that Doc snapped from his cell phone this weekend. We did a Hazzardous Shoot party. I had makeup artists on site to doll up the girls and guys. We did a group set of dead people and then my model Kaires got some of the most amazing makeup I've ever seen done to him. He was a monster, a figment of the imagination in the Hazzardous Asylum. Miss Nyxx was totally freaked out by his look when I showed them the images on the back of my camera. I was jaw dropped with the airbrushing on this one.
I have the cheesiest room in my house. I bought a big two story home back in January. Two of the four bedrooms were children's rooms. One of them was a shark tale theme with blue walls and border. I shot a nerdy set in that one. The other room was powder pink with princess borders. I was trying to think of a shoot idea to do in there before my painter turns these into adult accommodations haha ha ha
Leigha came to me with a costume that was designed for her. I saw it in a text message and said BOOM I've got the room perfect for this fairy set!
I couldn't stop laughing when I photographed my St. Paddy's Day Trio set. All three of the models were BOMBED. It worked perfect for the theme as I told them before they were playing irish drunks in a bar. Little did I know while I was doing two other sets waiting for the last mode to arrive that two of them would drink a bottle of jack. I can't wait to share this comedy trio.
Here is a wicked image of behind the scenes for our The Devils Rejects tribute set. You can see me bloodying up Captain Spaulding for the set. It was almost 30 degrees out when we shot this. We waited until Sun Set to capture the best lighting. It was such a fun day. Peoples reactions to 3 bloodied up models in my car on our way home was priceless.
I had a client a couple years ago book my boudoir special. She jammed out the day before and forfeited a deposit. She tried to haggle my prices and I laughed. I told her if she can't afford it save up for them because I shoot the special 3 times a year.
She came to another session, told me the horror stories of this photographer she canceled me for and how fat she looked in the images. Last spring she contacted me on my wedding packages and attempted to haggle me down on those.
I stood my ground. I never lowered them and when I got off the phone I said to Dougie ten bucks she calls me about how bad the photographer she booked was. SURE ENOUGH! this Sunday she called to book a re-shoot of her wedding party.
This lady is paying the makeup artist and hair stylist to re-do the wedding party and shes paying my rates to re-shoot the formal portraits.
I just don't understand people. Like research your photographer properly. I always tell clients that are shopping to ask to view a full wedding they photographed. Us Photographers always use our BEST of the BEST for our portfolio. That way when you see a full set you can get a feel for the style and see what your potentially getting for images.
Hopefully lesson learned <3
Well I'm off to shoot 3 burlesque sets for clients! chat soon SG'ers!
