Hrm. I know I've been gone a long time, but I seem to have forgotten how to favorite individual pictures in sets. There's no longer a heart on the screen as you're viewing the sets.... Anyone have any ideas?
Well, I'm back! ... for now. Someone anonymously reactivated my account. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a gimmick from SG - and I was thinking that before Gia suddenly announced her account was anonymously reactivated too. We don't have mutual friends but this happened more-or-less at the same time. ... riiiight.
Anyway, sad about some things. One of my favorite sets, one of Mamba's, is gone from the site - it didn't get selected as a daily set, so they deleted it? Fucking boo on that. Viola's gone from the site, which likewise makes me sad. I loved her smile, and even though she only did one set I kept hoping for a new one. Though... my memory might have betrayed me; she might have left before I did.
Still, on the whole it's a happy reunion. I almost forgot what real ::artistic:: nudes looked like. The sites I've been on lately, just because they're free, are all utter shit. Maybe once I'm not broke again, I'll reactivate my account here for real. Guess we'll see.

A photographer I know through deviantArt - who, sadly, lives on the other side of the bloody world - is asking people he knows on dA to submit nude photos of themselves just standing straight and looking at the camera, for a [hopefully] massive piece he's going to put together. He's done something similar and the results are very interesting; lots and lots of dull poses have an interesting way of making a good piece when put together that way. I know I'm not being very clear, but I'll link to his work when I get the end result.
Problem is, I need to find someone to do this -now-, because the submission deadline is the 23rd. Two days from now. Schisse.

I think I might start using this blog to showcase the kinds of sets I like, and why. I no one - usually - reads this, but it'll serve as a way of bookmarking my favorite sets as well as give me a chance to talk about the photography behind the sets. And I imagine verbalizing my thoughts on photographic technique will help me work out my own photography skills.

And I need to find time to start looking for more of Pulse's work, because if she shot that Mamba set, I've -got- to see what else she's done. The thing is though, some of these women are more beautiful than the selected SGs I see lately; and some of their sets are more artistic, and capture that same something the original SGs had, that drew me to the site in the first place.
No, not breasts :p Something much more than that. An attitude and an art style all rolled up into one, I think.

There're three basic sets out there. There's generic "OMG BOOBIES!", the strip tease in some random room with no real concept. Just "hey, I'mma gettin' nekkid here, worship me". Uhm, no thanks? Not to say that I don't appreciate these kinds of sets, but let's just say that I appreciate them lots more when I'm horny. Which contrary to popular thought isn't necessarily default for me on this site. I'm going to refrain from making any examples of this, but I'm sure if you look at the recent official sets, you'll find more than a few
Then there's the concept shoot. There's something about that set which makes it stand out, makes it memorable. A recent example is Crescent's set Tarot. There's a theme to the set beyond simply getting naked, so it's by definition more interesting. There's honest-to-God thought put into the set. These truly deserve to be accepted SG sets... and far too few of them are.
And then there are the rarest of the rare. The sets that combine not only beautiful women but true art. And this is why I'm here. If all SG had to offer was just the first type, maybe even if they had the second type, I don't think I'd pay for membership. Themed sets might not be enough, but plain old "OMG BOOBIES!" sure as fuck ain't. No, it's all sets like this one here: Golden Sunset by Mamba, that keep me coming back to the site.. Mamba's already a SuicideGirl, but even they have to get their sets approved by the masses.
And the masses, I've discovered, are fucking retarded. This one's barely in the running, and it's the best fucking set I've seen in months. All they care about is their OMG BOOBIES! That lot can die in a fire for all of me, and give me back my SG. If you want porn, go download some. Stop bringing this site's quality down. I know I sound like some old geezer saying "This site isn't what it used to be," but it isn't. It's become so popular and so mainstream, that it's attracted all sorts of guys who don't care about what the site actually means. Mainstream, SG isn't supposed to be. SG's stream isn't even a tributary, it's its own fucking river.

There is nothing, nothing more beautiful on a woman than her smile. Her body could be mind-numbingly hot, but if she can't or won't smile, all the attraction just fizzles up and dies.
