I have a new word I'd like to share with you....
"Freetard"
This applies to anyone who loves to fuck up anything that is free. These folks rush into anything, Myspace, Facebook, etc. and fill it with Spam and pass on stupid chain letters and create fake accts so they can pretend to have friends to support them when they flame strangers.
It also applies to people who litter in a park. Fuck up the show at outdoor concerts. and those dipshit Taggers who will actually ruin a great piece of Graffiti with their ultimately forgetable name.
This isn't about people who don't Have money. This is about people who have money but refuse to use it. I get asked if I can put people on a list to certain things all the time. no bog deal. But some people will ask to be put on a list for a charity event! Just because it CAN be free doesn't mean it always should be...
It's one of the reasons I actually like that you have to pay to be on SG. It weeds out the freetards.
These people are one of the reasons we have so few open community events in this country. If people were more aware of the value of what we have here...wether or not there's a charge... things could be a lot more fun.
Freetards.... oy

Phew! What a week... er...bunch of weeks...
I am home with a day off for the first time in 3 months.... It should be relaxing but it's weird.
maybe I have to go through work withdawal before I can truly chill out.
The show was a blast last week. The folks at the Hard Rock were great. And the VH1/Save The Music kids are awesome.

yes it's true... I make rock faces. I really think it's unavoidable. I've tried not to. I always loved just how incredibly bored Jimi Hendrix always looked when he played..huh?..stoned?..oh yeah.. good point.
I started doing something at this gig I like to call "guitar surfing". I lay the guitar against the amp and then use a pitch petal and a whammy pedal to change the notes and the accents. It's a good time.
But I also make some pretty funny faces while I do it.

I wanna thank
The incredible James for bringing Liza Rose,[MEMBER=Rigel,Mitsuko and Sash down to dance with us.
Pictures to come!
Thanks to everybody who came down...
And to those who couldn't make it... see you on tour
Big Love

We are playing the opening show at The Hard Rock - Universal City
May 17th @ 8 pm
The Show is a benefit for the Save The Music Foundation. Which is a dream come true for me. I'm a big fan of this organization.

Continuing on my desire to overmotivate everyone I know let me present
another dude I seriously appreciate. I have been using Anthony Robbins' techniques
since the mid 90s.
I find a strong line of consistent thought between The Secret, Anthony Robbins and
Grant Morrison...
Enjoy...
By the way..that's Al Gore sitting in the front row...
Have a great Week

I love this guy
I've been reading "The Invisibles" BY Grant Morrison and I am totally enamoured of his ideas. What I enjoy most is the combination of seriousness and joy he has. usually in life it's one or the other. Either you find people with a good point who are a total bore or happy-go-lucky giggleheads who never make a dent.
I hope your weekend is fun and frightening and full and empty.
Big Love
Hal
p.s. if you've been wondering what those weird symbols are on my MySpace page.... Abra-F@#*ing-Cadabra

I had a super productive day and it felt like it was a harbinger of the next month.
Ever feel like you're on a real tear? My day started a little soft...a little dull... but I had to do a TV interview
for WGN in Chicago about "The Secret" and I needed to be on top of game.
So I did a little mental house cleaning on the way and managed to rebuild the day from scratch.
By the end of the day I had 4 more stand-up bookings than when I left the house.. a possible tour of Europe and am on my way to securing the rights to two projects that I want to make for myself. I could tell you which ones but I don't want someone to snag 'em first ;0)
---------------------------
"Charlie Weaver, Wally Cox, Paul Lynne.. DEAD, DEAD, DEAD! Apparently there was something a lot more mysterious about the secret square than we were ever lead to believe!" - Bobcat Goldthwait
---------------------------
I am a judge on "Funniest Mom in America" for Nick at Nite. I've been shooting it for the last month and it's been surpisingly fun. Roseanne is the Host and Kim Coles (Living Single) is the other judge. Personally I think I am the perfect judge for this because... you know... I'm a mom.... anyway it's a fun way to keep busy.
----------------------------
On a weird note, I got asked to perform as a stand-up at the International Mr. Leather Ball in Chicago. I don't know what they're expecting but if they want Michael Novotny telling jokes they are going to be very confused.
The only thing I need to figure out is how to do my Arnold Schwarzenegger impression in a Zipper Hood.
---------------------------
My band's Album was supposed to go up on iTunes today but the UPC number was entered with a SPACE in it and was rejected so it went back into the system and might take weeks to get up... GRRRRRR
when did I get an e-mail that it wasn't going up? ...er... today... so.... yeah... tick tock...
