So its been a while...

Anyway since the last time I posted I have visited San Francisco and I went to the SG burlesque. Those aren't the only things I did in the intervening months but they are possibly the most interesting, Who would really want to me talk about my job and school work?

So I was down in SF on business and at the conference I was at they had Colin Powell speaking. I have to say that he definitely leaves an impression. He never really talked about what he was supposed to, corporate responsibility, but the did go off on how the country is doing and some stuff about Iraq. He even had a small Bush impression in there. But what was really funny was when he started talking about how much he misses the plane they gave him to rid in as Secretary of State.

Other then that SF was really nice. I can see why people would want to live there although I can't figure out why they would pay so much to do so. Seems to me that anyone living there would have a hard time saving anything. The second half of that week I spent on Emeryville CA. That happens to be a small town in between SF and Oakland that no one has ever heard of. However Pixar's HQ is there which I had to walk by ever day. They also have a Clash themed cafe, Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe that I ate at 3 times. I really love that place. Most of my time when I stayed in Oakland was spend in Berkley. That is a really interesting place. The locals would walk by and say "nug" meaning the wanted to sell you weed. I thought it was so funny I started walking by old people and saying it. I didn't dare do it to anyone younger because I was worried they might be a dealer and think I am invading their turf.

So on to the next thing you might be interested in was the SG Burlesque. That was a fucking awesome time. First I got to meet all the new people in SGAustin. There have been big get togethers before but most of the people I met a while ago either don't come anymore or moved. Anyway after drinking at Casino El Camino we went in just as one of the local openers was wrapping up. We got there just in time to get a great spot for the show. Next comes on Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re who were just as amazing as last year. Some of the other SGAustin people there doubted how good I made them out to be but they were converts when their set was over. Following that the Burlesque show started and this year I was sad that no one jumped on stage and got their ass kicked. However I almost got into a fight in the crowd. This group of people were slowly trying to push in front of me from behind me and to the right. Eventually they pushed their way infront of us and then shoved me. So I ran back at them at full force and shoved them back. This kept happening until they finally gave me my spot back but not after stealing some of the other SGAustins spots. It didn't really end there because through out the show I still have to wrestle for my spot. The only consolation we had was that when the Girls threw water and soda at us they got hit worse then me but I got both a face full of water and soda.

After the show I was even able to get pictures with Nixion and Reagan. Although I think they came out kind of weird. I was somewhat drunk and I was trying to hide my Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re cds from the picture. Hench my awkwardly placed left arm. The funny thing was I noticed that in the first picture but for some reason I did the EXACT SAME THING in the second. I also have this weird grin on my face. I was never good at forced smiles for pictures. I am probably just being way to narcissistic.

Hadees

I'm off on walkabout - such are new years resolutions.

also, I'm losing the thrill...

Can you look after the pro-israel group? Don't let it call into the hands of a hater.

good luck

It's the nature of the beast.

Sean is a good guy, he'll pop up with counterbalance.

You can too - submit stories to the newswire (perhaps you could message Helen Jupiter when you do).

If they aren't approved, put a copy on the boards.

Sorry for not carrying on with it. I lost the joy. It now seems like work.

Have you accidentally right clicked "Block Images from Suicidegirls.com" in Firefox? I've done that many a time.

my brother is actually one of Dennis Ross's students at Georgetown... I believe that Ross is suing Carter for his misuse of Ross' maps in the book .

Merci beaucoup, buddy. Yeah, we're all cool over here. Everyone thinks we're crazy but we're cool.
Don't worry about your age. Get your degree, learn as much hebrew as you can and your computer skills and degrees will be invaluable to you. Code monkeys are in high demand here, High Tech is literally fuelling the economy. If your hebrew is decent and you have a computer engineering degree or computer science degree it shouldn't be a problem (provided you know your paycheck will be considerably smaller than it would be in the US).

As for the army, well if you want to do it and you push for it, you can do it. If you're good with a computer and have some hebrew there are some...special units...that are open to you. Age is a problem, I'm 23 and considered old, but again a friend in my brother's unit joined Golani when he was 36 years old. Jpost did an article on him, too. Like everything else here, its how you take it.

ah, yo comprendo. Still, if you have experience you should be ok. Off the top of my head I think several government orgs could use people like you.

Hebrew is always an issue. I hate learning languages too but ya gotta force yourself. I do it everyday, though I still wonder why english cant be the national language.
