So its been a while...

Anyway since the last time I posted I have visited San Francisco and I went to the SG burlesque. Those aren't the only things I did in the intervening months but they are possibly the most interesting, Who would really want to me talk about my job and school work?

So I was down in SF on business and at the conference I was at they had Colin Powell speaking. I have to say that he definitely leaves an impression. He never really talked about what he was supposed to, corporate responsibility, but the did go off on how the country is doing and some stuff about Iraq. He even had a small Bush impression in there. But what was really funny was when he started talking about how much he misses the plane they gave him to rid in as Secretary of State.

Other then that SF was really nice. I can see why people would want to live there although I can't figure out why they would pay so much to do so. Seems to me that anyone living there would have a hard time saving anything. The second half of that week I spent on Emeryville CA. That happens to be a small town in between SF and Oakland that no one has ever heard of. However Pixar's HQ is there which I had to walk by ever day. They also have a Clash themed cafe, Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe that I ate at 3 times. I really love that place. Most of my time when I stayed in Oakland was spend in Berkley. That is a really interesting place. The locals would walk by and say "nug" meaning the wanted to sell you weed. I thought it was so funny I started walking by old people and saying it. I didn't dare do it to anyone younger because I was worried they might be a dealer and think I am invading their turf.

So on to the next thing you might be interested in was the SG Burlesque. That was a fucking awesome time. First I got to meet all the new people in SGAustin. There have been big get togethers before but most of the people I met a while ago either don't come anymore or moved. Anyway after drinking at Casino El Camino we went in just as one of the local openers was wrapping up. We got there just in time to get a great spot for the show. Next comes on Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re who were just as amazing as last year. Some of the other SGAustin people there doubted how good I made them out to be but they were converts when their set was over. Following that the Burlesque show started and this year I was sad that no one jumped on stage and got their ass kicked. However I almost got into a fight in the crowd. This group of people were slowly trying to push in front of me from behind me and to the right. Eventually they pushed their way infront of us and then shoved me. So I ran back at them at full force and shoved them back. This kept happening until they finally gave me my spot back but not after stealing some of the other SGAustins spots. It didn't really end there because through out the show I still have to wrestle for my spot. The only consolation we had was that when the Girls threw water and soda at us they got hit worse then me but I got both a face full of water and soda.

After the show I was even able to get pictures with Nixion and Reagan. Although I think they came out kind of weird. I was somewhat drunk and I was trying to hide my Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re cds from the picture. Hench my awkwardly placed left arm. The funny thing was I noticed that in the first picture but for some reason I did the EXACT SAME THING in the second. I also have this weird grin on my face. I was never good at forced smiles for pictures. I am probably just being way to narcissistic.

I live in Silver Spring which has exploded from just three years ago.

By the way, the Republican in MD lost!

I agree with your analysis of communism, not to mention how anoying I've found it to debate on the boards. Wise man say "What is the sound of 100 people outshouting any other opinion? The answer is a silence."

The art of the hammer and sicle is interesting. Especially the the hammer, as it relates to Masons and the fact that the manifesto was written in a lodge.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. Here are a few websites talking about the problem of rape convictions in the UK.

RapeCrisis - has links to stats. The stats come from uk government data, so seem "reliable".

Some older links:
BBC Report- one in tweny women raped
BBC Report - Have the numbers really rocketed
BBC news - 39 convictions from 900 complaints
Scotsman Newspaper - 794 'aleged rapes', 31 sucessful prosecutions

There were some stories on the SG newswire about attitudes to rape and rape victims in the UK. The results were scary; along the lines of "drunk women deserve it" etc. A few people think that the stiff prison sentence and sex-offenders' register make it harder to get a conviction for rape.

thanks for the comment. i hope that i explained myself fully enough. as far as israel goes, i DO believe that the USA funds them so heavily for their own reasons, not because the US government gives a shit about israel. and i completely disagree with israel's occupation of gaza and lebanon. but i think its easy for you and i to understand each other because both of us are concerned with the welfare of ALL people and because neither of us appear to be idealistic tards who think that the answer is as simple as the usa pulling out of iraq smile

....on the macbook currenlty and yes, they fucking rule wink

For some reason I can't get as into books on tape. I can't get lost in them the same way I do on paper books.

I'm going to look that up when I can get back to my books. I feel so vulnerable when I'm away from them. frown Because there was a very potent notion of why the original Jews settled the area, which is what I was trying to touch on. And just for the record, I'm pretty much in complete agreement with everything you've said thus far. I just enjoy discussing the finer points.
