Holy crackers, I have been through the wringer.
I got back yesterday from a weekend in the Hell that is Orlando, Florida. It was the annual conference of the American Library Association, which can usually be a blast but Orlando was a real drag. Too fucking hot and too far to go between meetings. Everyone was so spread out that I ended up missing a bunch of friends I wanted to see.
And that was after the Rare Books and Manuscripts Preconference at Yale the whole week before. I was the program chair for that one, so I was on my feet from the time I got to New Haven Sunday night until I gave my closing remarks on Thursday morning.
Check out my conference program:

But now that's all behind me, and I got tenure, so for the first time in two years I get to relax.
Ye-haw.
