I've been tinkering, and as usual I'm keeping a nauseatingly exhaustive photographic record of my left thumb.

See? Tinker tinker tinker.

I knew the lights would be bright, but I think I burned my fucking retinas!

Those appear to be some bright-ass lights, Bro.

I'm envious of all your tinker toys, so to speak. Most of my tools and equipment have been stoloen or otherwise forfeited over the decades.frown

You've been tinkering? I never would have imagined! The battey tray back there is seriously slick. I take it it's the stock box or one from another bike with some tabs welded on or bent to work? very nice. Those lights are awesome, too. I wish I would have done something more like that with the thruxton instead of the two tiny signals and the small strip for the running/brake lights.

to answer your question, I'd love a KZ sometime. But presently I'm bothered by the number of non-moving projects. I think the Z900 is the best looking bike in the history of UJMs That's what I'd want. Do guys ever fit later 1000s & 1100s into them? I think I've decided to tone down my ideas for the H2. I was hoping to make it handle via alternate lightwieght wheels & hubs, late model forks& such. Since I have this my newly acquired drag strip fascination I think I'll just go with what it's original intention was, point and shoot. Just put 'er together and drive it in a straight line, turn with caution.

No sliced hands = good news. (I was worried when you mentioned your thumb, like you were foreshadowing something.)

I'm impressed with the discipline you've shown all this time, not only in managing several (difficult) projects but in seeing them through. (And those lights are bright indeed!)

Nah, I never had intentions of using the H2 on a road track, but I was wanting to go with modern suspension and wheels to try to make it handle better. Mostly now I'm justifying staying cheaper by staying simpler and making a street going drag-oriented bike. which is what they always were anyhow. no wheelie bars although I could make a longer swinger quick since I have one spare. cut the ends off of one and weld longer ends on from the other. and brace it of course.

Yeah, for my instruments, mostly what I use are a Boss T-Wah envelope filter, occasionally a chorus (sometimes on my vocals or acoustic guitar), a small bit of digital delay, and I have a homemade volume pedal, but usually I just hook my pinky around the volume knob and turn it as I play if I'm trying to get a backwards sort of sound. I also use an octave divider occasionally, but mostly I use them during what I call Space Jams or Feedback Jams, or just ever-so subtly otherwise. I also use the octave on my vocals AND on my bass sometimes. There's weird things I can use the pedals for where people barely notice them but wonder about my sound. Considering the psych effect the swelling on my brain was having I figured it would be fun to play with my pedals for a bunch of people eating mushrooms, though. So I played a weird set. I'll probably post the setlist a some point.

My head's pretty much better, but everyone's mad at me for signing out of the hospital early 'cause they think I could have died.

But I didn't, so it's all okay.smile
