The Month of Study continues, although at a slower pace today. Today, I study only things that amuse me. First up, some mind-bending recursion where I make a list of lists that list the list that list them... and see what weird things I can make happen.

So, questions to this point:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

If you could instantly be granted one talent or skill, what would it be? One realistic and one complete fantasy answer cheerfully accepted!

and

If you had to be haunted by a ghost, tell me about the ghost by which you would be haunted.

and

What cartoon character would you like you are most like, and why?

and

A plain box, two feet long, one foot wide, one foot high, arrives in your mail. There's no return address, but it's definitely addressed to you. It gives you no reason for alarm, so you decide to open it. What's inside?

and

Pick a figure from history. Pick one major event in their story. Tell how you would do things differently, and what the result would be.

As I have said before- Answer any, all, or none, as you like, at any point. Or even make up your own question and answer it, or throw it at me. smile

What scares me as I learn more... is always, how much I have to learn. I'm left wondering at what point I know enough to be worthwhile. I'm not there yet.

Meanwhile...

Question for today: what's the one greatest bit of wisdom you can offer me?

haha, your entries always set me thinking biggrin

A figure from "history" would have to be your president I'm afraid. So recent history. September 11th. Although the atacks were undescribibly awful and evil, I did not then support his war on terror and to this day still do not. I believe the world has become an unsafe place to live underlined by his actions following that dreadful event. The west as a whole should have played a role in setting a good example as far as dialogue goes, not bombing aimlessly left and right. blush I hope I don't hurt your or any of the readers feelings. If so sorry, it's just what I believe. I just knew there was no weapons of mass destruction in Irak for example, had many arguments with my then bf over it. He was all "yeah bomb them". I am happy that sadam is no longer in power but it "scares" me what might come to power now. The turmoil in that whole region is almost out of control. I believe stronly that education and showing people (for example their women) how to emancipate and get better lives for themselves is better that reinforcing it from the outside with violence. Change must come from within. I agree this is a long road, but look so many years down the line...we haven't gotten much further and so many lives on all sides have been lost in the process whatever

My piece of wisdom is one I've quoted often and love, Mathew Flickstein;

Nothing comes to stay, everything comes to pass

Well, they look fun to play with. And it would just feel good to have something there. And standing up and aiming to pee! How awesome would that feel?

Maybe it's just a "the grass is always greener" type thing, I just want one because I don't have one.

A figure from history? Hmmm... Shakespeare!

I would... um... rewrite Romeo and Juliet... and call it... Romeo and Rosaline* and Juliet biggrin

Best piece of wisdom? Umm... treat every single problem as a completely new situation. Don't assume, don't use what you did "last time", always strip it down to the basics and don't have rules for how to deal with things. Except for the rule of not having rules.

Was that clear as mud?

*Which if I remember correctly was in fact Romeo's first love.

Hmmm... a box. I'm guessing it's computer components from one of the contests for which I signed up. Top of the line video card for sure, maybe even two of them for crossfire/SLI. There might be a motherboard, PSU, and other stuff, as well.

I'm at a loss on the figure from history thing at the moment. I may try to revisit that one.

Good to hear Fearless is doing okay. miao!!
