So, I've woken up about three hours earlier than I usually do. This could be a problem, if I hadn't had a nap Sunday afternoon- but I did, so I should be fine. In a minute or two, I am going to go use two of those hours to study... because that's what I am declaring June to be: the month of study!

The reason why I am uneasy is that my company lost one of their big, good clients one week ago today. I've known (for sure) I was going to be looking elsewhere since about the start of the year, *but* before this, it was leisurely. Now it's a case of, "hurry up and get out of there before they have to get rid of you."

Because, make no mistake, I am a luxury at my company. A nice luxury(indeed!), one that can make the company look good and help it grow, but a luxury, because the bosses really aren't so interested in growth as in being comfortable. And, to be clear: I don't blame them. I'm going to miss it there, though- and I wish this wasn't happening.

So, my goal is this: pass the Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) exam no later than the first week of July. There, I've said it. Now I've got to do it. I have a lead on another job that might not even require the certification- but if I have it, so much the better.

Ok, now it is time to go get a cup of tea and put in a couple more hours towards what I have to do.

I hope all of you have a good Monday. smile

And a question: if you could instantly be granted one talent or skill, what would it be? One realistic and one complete fantasy answer cheerfully accepted!

Off to study! Chop Chop!

I'm sure someone else will snatch you up in an instant.

Also, my one realistic talent/skill would be something technical. Electronics, cars, carpentry, etc. Something like that.

My fantasy skill would be the power of persuasion (I would not abuse it of course).

Good luck with the studying. I think I'd want to have a knack for performing for others. It wouldn't matter what so much as just being comfortable doing it.
