today i bought 2 pounds of fresh, heirloom tomatoes.
on my porch i have a basil plant that is flourishing marvelously.
tomorrow, i will combine these things with a couple cloves of fresh garlic, some olive oil, and a bit of chili pepper to make the most delicious fucking tomato sauce on the planet.
this will go atop some pasta that will be accompanied with fresh garlic bread.
and maybe a salad on the side with shallot vinaigrette.

in 2 weeks, i'm going to vegas for three days. i plan on being drunk the entire time.

i'm mostly just waiting to hear from one of my uncles about how much tuition assistance i can get for next semester. depending upon the answer will depend upon whether or not i can afford to fly.
i know i said this before in march, but right now i have very little affecting my life in ways which would prevent me from visiting. being both jobless and schoolless means that not much can really trap me here by surprise.

finally had my surgery today. despite having to be at the hospital at 6:30am and being sorta nervous about being put under for the first time in my life, it actually wasn't too bad. and while i probably won't be completely healed until about mid-august, i only have 2 weeks of pain killers and nasty healing to contend with. the rest should be relatively smooth sailing.
my internship starts on the 1st. i have that until august 15th. i'm currently reading the soon to be published book by Guillermo del Toro called "The Strain" as requested by my soon to be boss.
my unemployment should kick in soon. which is good cause after spending a few days with my sister, i'm running on a lower level of cash than i prefer. luckily i won't be doing fuck all for the next two weeks, so i'm hoping my financial situation will stabilize due to my inactivity.
oh, and i lost my phone. though this time it's just cause i accidentally left it in a cab (not drunk, just stupid) and not cause a hooker stole it. the replacement is already in the mail, so i should have it by friday.
i also still have a girlfriend. and still really like her. its still really weird.
