Silverlake and Williamsburgh are the gates to the end of the world. A few months ago I was pressured into silverlake for a friends art show. The first people that I talked to at the gallery asked me where I live and when I told them hollywood the 2 girls chuckled and walked away from me. I approached them and asked what they had against hollywood and they informed me that hollywood is where pretentious assholes live and that im obviously a yuppy asshole if i like there. Concerned with their incorrect views of my zone, I asked them where in hollywood they had been and didnt like. They had never been out in hollywood. And IM the pretentious one??? Im so glad I was able to learn that night that to be indie you should hate people that live 3 miles from you in a part of town youve never been to. i guess i should start riding a $800 fixed gear to buy some pbrs and ride back to my loft that my stock broker dad pays for to spend some time understanding myself. End of rant: to brother...there is no more "rage against the system." Shit used to mean something, its over. Punk rock is dead.

It was nice meeting you yesterday at the SGNY event - it's been too long since I was last at an SG event and am definitely looking forward to future SGNY events.
