YES!!!! Fall semester is over!! now i get almost 3 months off, its gonna be awesome. that and i met someone. im hoping it works out cause we really have a lot in common. but if not there are always people from SG who id consider meeting up with....hint hint.
Well its finals week...they relaxed the rules on uniforms and room inspections and everyone ended up moving all their shit out. in the process all the kids without any finals till later this week all got permission to stay home. Sadly ive got my Vessel Fam/Safety final today and my Steam Eng final on friday so im stuck here all week. at least ive got my computer and the library is still open. I don't remember what to do with this much free time. Anyone have any ideas that might relieve the boredom while keeping in mind im stuck on campus send them along cause im bored out of my mind right now.
well, easy drill. paperwork, PT, weapons familarization...the usual. so now im stuck here for the night and the storm tomorrow. hope that we dont lose power this time.
Its been a while i know, but ive been really busy with finals. The dining-in last week was pretty awesome. We were the only ones there not in army greens, but everyone said our dress blues looked better...i might have some pics up later(probably not though). the MS-IV's were goofing around a lot so us freshmen got overlooked. it was all going great until one of the MMA seniors got up and pulled a Blue Falcon. (if you dont know what that is, ask me) we all got sent to the grog bowl...lets just say that the trash barrels were a little more full after that. Ive spent the last week cramming for my finals and working on end of term projects. I cant wait to finish my exams and go home. Finally i can relax, go out at night, drive my car, and hang with my friends...well till next time people.....
i hate being stuck here over the weekends. theres nothing to do and no where to go. everyone else has either gone home or gone somewhere to party for the weekend. so im stuck here with noone to talk to and nothing to do...AAARRRGGGGHHHHHH.
UPDATED: they closed the damn rec room...so no tv or pool table. now im really pissed

Well its official, we are members of the Regiment. We got woken up at about 4:30 this morning and went outside for....VIKING BATH!!!!!!! we spent an hour running around inside the company just getting warm, then we ran outside and into the bay! my legs froze up and i completely fell foward into the water. they told us that it was about 19 degrees outside and the water was around 42, but it was more like 10 degrees and 36 in the bay. im still kinda cold (going to formation today didnt help) but it feels good. last night they gave out our ROTC crests. that ceremony was pretty cool as well. the guest speakers were really interesting, but the best part was the actual awarding of the crest. all the freshmen formed up into a line and stood there as our upperclass advisors pinned the crest onto our uniforms. then they all formed a line and walked down our lines. they stopped in front of each freshman and pounded the crest into our chests. (mind you we hadnt gotten to put the frogs onto the back). after about 5 minutes they finished, and we all faced the audience and gave a mighty, thunderous HOOAH!!! i went back to my room after dinner and found that i had two big holes in my undershirt. it was awesome. there were a few guys who joined too late in the semester to get their crests, but next semester we get to pin them.
well i guess ill get into the whole blogging thing. im starting to freak out about finals...mostly cause it determines whether i go on Winter Cruise. for those of you who dont know what that is, at my school we take our training ship out during january and february and go somewhere warm. this year we are going to panama, costa rica, aruba, and puerto rico, but if i dont pass my finals in Vessel Fam and Steam Eng im gonna have to stay here and freeze for the winter...tomorrow should be a good day though. all the freshmen in ROTC are getting our crests and insignia in a big ceremony so that shoud be fun. you'll here more later about that, trust me.
