Getting fucked over in new and exciting ways.

So somebody at "Big Army" decided that they weren't going to cut us our deployment orders until 30 days before we are mobilized.

Problem is, 30 days before we go Title 10 we are supposed to be on Title 32 and in a completely different state.

So we're completely naked under USERA right now and have none of the protections that a Guardsmen is supposed to have. And of course none of the benefits either since those requre that we have orders-in-hand.

Right now I have zero faith in my State or my Command's ability to do the right thing and take care of the troops.

huh.

Back after three years. Wonder who the "anonymous benefactor" is.

It's moving day, It's moving day!

There's just something about moving into a new place.

I've been out of school for years. So I guess this is about as close to that first day of school that I get these days.

Funny how it also turns out that I tend to move in the Late Summer/Early Fall time frame too.

Oh well, out of the Apartment and into a house.

Got home from New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Alexandria/Lake Charles on the last flight of Oregon Guards on Friday.

Once I get the pics on the disposable camera I took developed I'll post them, I wasn't about to take my Digital down there since I wasn't sure where I'd be or what the mission would be when I left home a Month ago today.

Got another week worth of Equipment Cleaning and Turn in to go, but that'll be easy after this last month.

2-218 FA Bn has been federalised for a period of 30 days for Katrina Relief.

Things have been getting nastier in that part of Iraq for the last couple of months but from the reports I'm hearing things are as nasty on the new guys as we ( Intel Pukes ) were afraid they could be.

We are now into the third and fourth rotations in some of the areas and things are always really rough at first as they new guys get put through the ringer.
