Question . Why is it that every thread in the Lifestyles board is a pissing contest ? My belief system is better then yours . My knowledge is superior to yours . Ya know what folks , no one really gives two shits what some anonymous prick on the interwebz has to say about anything . At least anyone with half a brain . Now I think I'll spend my time wisely & go look at Vice's new set again .

Guess I better update this , or you all may think I offed myself or something . So I've been enjoying my forced time off . Basically I've been relaxing when I can , getting some stuff done around the house that's needed doing for awhile now . And I've gotten back into some old hobbies I haven't been into for years .
I finally got my severance pay , it was only 4 weeks late . I finally called the old HR guy & left a message about not getting it yet . They got back to me & said a few people had the same problem . My question , if you know some folks didn't get theirs yet & you can tell I didn't get mine , how long were you planning on waiting before getting in touch with me about it ? I really am not going to miss some of the assholes I had to work with there . But I will miss some of the other folks I was with on a daily basis .
So I'm about ready to start the job hunt for real now . First I'm going to go over my resume again today & update it / punch it up a bit . Then I'm going to send it out to some of the closer places doing the same kind of work I was doing . Guess I'll just go from there for now .

I guess I'll do this & get it out of the way . I got canned from my job of over 8 years last Thursday . Down sizing was how they put it . We got bought by a bigger company about 2 years ago who have most of their plants in the Kansas area . And we had recently built a plant out that way . So it was fairly obvious that the work was going to go out there . And of course we kept getting lied to about how everything was fine , right up to the day we got let go .
On the plus side , I've been half assedly looking for a new job the last few months , so this will get me motivated quickly . And I got a nice severance package , so I'll be good to go for a while . More then anything I hate being lied to . I always have , whether it was work related or otherwise .
So now I have a chance to catch up on some reading . I can get my body healed up from the regular beating I've been taking the last 8 years . I can get some work done around the house that has needed doing for a while now . And I can look for a job where I might even get to sit down once in a while . I'm getting too old for this stand on your feet & bend over something all day bullshit any way . And believe me , when you're 6'3" , you're having to bend over all the time for shit .
And as one last bitch about that job , I think they kept someone in my old department instead of me who fucked up all the time . Now , I never would say I'm perfect . I tend to miss time during the year . However most of the time I've called off sick , I actually have been sick . Now , this woman made mistakes at the job at a rate of about 20 to 1 of my mistakes . At least . But she's there every day . So I guess that makes it okay . And I know I shouldn't really give a shit anymore , but it pisses me off that she's still got a job ( that she does poorly ) while I don't . And shit like this is why I've been looking for something else the last few months . Fuck that place .

How did you spend your day off ( if you had one ) ? We went to West Reading & had breakfast at the W. Reading diner , then went to Barnes & Nobles for some cheap reads & coffees . We are going to work on painting the upstairs bathroom today . We got a good coat of primer down last night , then mellowed out watching a old episode of MST3K ( Hellcats ! ) .
I'm going about finding a place for my BPAL goods . I bought a nice ( but small ) wooden cigar box of off EBay a few weeks ago for my bottles . And today I picked up a small box & some hard foam to put in the bottom of it . I'm going to drill holes in the foam , then I can put my imps in there . Upon further review , I think I went too small on the imp box .
Today I'm sporting The Antikythera Mechanism . It's full of smoky , woody , vanilla goodness I'm also bidding on a couple of bottles today . I won a bottle of Old Moon yesterday Won it for 12.50 , but it's coming from Canada so the shipping will make total payment about double that . Oh well . It's only money , right ?
Last night I tried out The Coiled Serpent . Talk about something not being a perfume . Whew . Not that I didn't like it , but it has some serious patchouli going on . And for the first time I think I really got the sharper scent that vetiver can produce . but I did enjoy it , so that wasn't a bad thing either . Just not sure exactly when I'll be able to wear it . It's supposed to be a Yogic oil . I've never really read up on Yoga much . Maybe I should , I could use help in relaxing at times . That used to be what booze was for Not so much anymore . Getting too old for that shit , at least at the levels I used to consume it at .
One last thing . When Opeth releases their new cd next week , go out & buy it . Trust me , you will not be disappointed .

I have a new hobby . My new hobby seems to be spending what ever spare cash I have on Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab scents . First I bought 3 bottles that after much perusal of their website I decided would work well on me . A few weeks later , I ordered a 6 pack of their sample bottles . I got my tax return , I ordered 5 more bottles . We just got back from their new moon sale at a nail salon that carries all their scents & is way too close for comfort to where I live , & I bought 4 more bottles there .

In a shocking development , I didn't get the job I was trying for . This shit is getting old fast , much like me And in another revolting situation , the upper eyelid on my right eye decided to do weird things this week . First it felt like I was getting a sty in it , so I did the hot , moist compress thing to it for a couple days . Then it began to swell up . Eventually it got looking like someone had popped me in the eye . I tried to go to my doctor , but I was on the phone talking to the receptionist & I said " I don't know what it is , there may be something it there for all I know , but it doesn't feel like there is " . All she heard was " something in there " & told me to go to the ER . Despite my pleading with her that all I wanted was someone to look at it , she wouldn't take me in . So I'm looking for a new doctor too .
Anyway , I go to the ER . They look at it for like 5 minutes & prescribe antibiotics . Which is exactly what I expected the doctor to do in the first place . Fucking idiots I am surrounded by fucking idiots .
So anyway , I'm almost done with the pills now , my eye isn't swollen now but the lid is still red . And somehow , despite taking all these pills , I seem to have some kind of bad as cold . Or whatever was happening in my eye decided my sinuses was a much funner place to be . Cause I've been sick as hell the last few days . Dragging my ass even when I don't feel so congested .
So yeah , go me ! I think I either need to go on a good drunk or to go find someone who I really do want to fuck & fuck their brains out . Or some combination of the two .

So , the game is afoot . I now have a interview in person Thursday morning with the same folks as before . I was told that the reason they didn't get back to me before was that the scheduler was out all week . I know I had a touch of the flu & it has been going around like mad here , so I cut them some slack & said no biggie . I really think that as long as I'm not a complete idiot that they're going to make me a offer . At least I hope so . I'm really ready for a change from my current situation . We're so slow right now that we're having off the next 2 Fridays .
And I also got my new glasses . I'll try to talk my GF into taking a shot or 2 of me with them . I now look distinguished I got the " those make you look smarter " at work a few times already . My response is " you know better " . It is nice looking down at the keyboard & being able to clearly see the keys . Also nice being able to play games on my DS lite & make out the details on the screen . I've needed these for quite awhile now , I've just been too stubborn to make the change . So far I'm liking them , just wish I didn't feel the need to clean the lenses so often .

Beginning to wonder about this . The folks who called me about a job , then emailed me that they didn't want me ( in so many words ) called me again Friday about how they DO want to interview me after all . I don't know . If they have this much trouble keeping track of folks they may want to hire , then how are they with the folks who do work for them already ?
Anyway , I have given in to my impending doom & had my eyes examined today for glasses . I've never worn glasses my entire life . And I don't even know why I've put it off this long . I've known for a while now that I needed them for reading . The last time we went out to eat , the place was pretty dark & I couldn't read anything on the menu , at all . That was pretty much the last straw for me . I was just waiting until I could afford to do it . Well , the fact that we have to get glasses through Walmart if we want our insurance to cover any of it might have put me off a bit too . Cause let me tell you all something I discovered today . The mullet lives !!! It is gray or white now , & sits on the head of fat white guys who are either putting around on rascals or using their shopping cart as a walker in Walmart . Jezus , if I never go back into that store again it will be too soon . I'd forgotten why I liked Target so much , today reminded me for sure .

Ha ! I just got a call from the place I applied to & didn't get hired by last week . Seems that the opening wasn't the only one for that position ! So I will get a second chance . My day started shitty but man , it's been spiraling upward since about noon .
