Good lord , I need to update . So , just having a lazy Sunday here . Nothing really going on at all . GF just took the dog for a drive , so I may even take a nap . I did finally pick up Disgaea for the Nintendo DS . I have it for my PS2 , but it's nice being able to play before going to sleep at night . I'm going to call the doctors office when I get up tomorrow about getting different pills . I was trying to just go with the sleep aids , but I noticed my temper coming back again last week . And I was really enjoying not feeling that way . I'm sure others around my were enjoying it too .
I do now realize a few more things about me though . I really do take things personally that I sometimes shouldn't . And I dwell on them , turning them over in my mind endlessly until it burns a little black hole in my guts . While on the Prozac I was able to " turn the other cheek " emotionally . Which in turn helped me not be so tense . I think I may be borderline high blood pressure , so i could really use some relief in that area .
I'll let you all know how things go after I talk to the doctor . I'm not putting it off any longer .

A new update . I am going to stop taking the Prozac as it is making me break out in hives whenever I sweat . Then I itch like crazy . So , no more of those . I'll call the MD tomorrow about maybe trying something else .
It's supposed to get up to 92 here today . Which is way too hot way too soon in my book . Then again , I hate hot weather . Still very happy to have my car back . It's nice to pull into work & see that I averaged 33 MPG on my 65 mile drive in . I think the next car ( a long way down the road at this point ) I will be looking for even better mileage , if that's possible . Maybe a hybrid or whatever new gas saving tech they have in 3-4 years . It's gonna need to be small & nimble as well , as I love my ground grabbing GTI .

Now a real blog . So , got the car yesterday . Total amount of repairs , with the labor included , about $13K 
Seriously , they should have just totaled the damned thing . So , the car feels as good as it ever did . 4 new tires will help with that . I guess I didn't realize just how badly I needed new ones . The only issue I have with anything is driving home last night I found out my headlights are way out of whack . Like the low beams are showing maybe 10 feet ahead of the car . So I need to get them realigned , but I think I'll just take it to a local shop & have it done . How much can that cost ? I miss the good old days when I could just fix some of the minor things myself . Maybe I'll look online & see how hard it is .

I missed having a car that is sooo easy to park . I really missed getting close to 30 mpg too . So hopefully I'll avoid all guard rails from now on .

Is water boarding still torture if you do it to a car mechanic ? Still no car . Now they said they put it up to do the front end alignment & the lasers caught something out of whack . So they looked into it & found more parts that needed replacing . Apparently they can't go over the entire car at one time .

Afraid I have been even less on the site than usual , due to a combo of odd work hours & discovering facebook . I find the silly quiz's there to be a good way to unwind after work . I STILL haven't gotten my car back yet . 
Now I'm hearing the middle of next week . Why do these asshats wait for me to contact them to tell me this . Why aren't they calling me to tell me it's going to take longer then they said ? It's enough to make me want to reenact Columbine on their asses .

Still waiting on getting my car back from the shop The GF is getting more annoyed about it now then I am , but with good reason . My insurance covered the rental car I had at a 80 / 20 % split , with them paying the 80 % up to the rental price hitting $1000 . This happened last Thursday . So she finally did something I've been trying to get her to do for over a year & bought a newer car . It's a 05 Honda Element & I've got to say I really like it . Much more then I expected to , really . I know they look boxy & It looks like it wouldn't be easy / fun to drive , but it really is . It feels like I'm driving a car , not any kind of SUV . Now , why am I driving her new car ? because she's driving the old car until I get my car back from the shop . Quite frankly I doubt her old car could handle my daily 130 mile drive to & from work . It's really falling apart & I can't blame her for wanting to get into her new vehicle . But this was her idea , including me driving the newer one to work . Ah well , it'll only be a couple of weeks .

I then had a special for my entrée . Rock fish . Now some of you may not know what a rock fish is . Basically it's a small / young striped bass . It's also my favorite fish in the world . This came over a hash of sweet potatoes , crayfish & ham . There were also a couple of slices of fried green tomatoes with it . And it was very nice indeed . We then slit a lemon sponge cake with lemon mousse inside . I tend to prefer lighter / not so rich desserts . Hardly ever get chocolate for dessert for just that reason .
So anyway , the meal was easily one of the best I've ever had , period . Everything was prepared perfectly . Every dish combined flavors & textures in ways I'd never had before . It was the best birthday dinner ever .
