Words can't describe the joy I have at Thanksgiving. Family from all over fly to one spot for a weekend and after sifting through the physical (and emotional) baggage of the first day, we all seem to have a blank slate. We pile on couches, lay on the floor, sip coffee, hug, laugh boisterously, and never want to leave the confines of the large living room. There is no place we would rather be than snuggled near each other among dispersed dogs and cats eyeing our food. 29 table settings were placed for the big dinner and all were stacked high after I carved the Turkey and dispensed the sleepy time bomb.
Everyone went round the table saying that for which they were thankful. Most included a quip about family or his/her significant other. I told them I was thankful for the moment. That point in time where smart phones were charging, conversations were halted, and 29 attentions were focused. We need more of this.
