In March 2008, I was a month away from flying home from my year in Australia. I was on a tour of the red centre. Uluru (Ayres Rock) was the reason I went to Australia. There was about 15-16 on the tour. One English girl soon became a bit separated from the rest of us. She was very pretty and a upperclass, posh kinda girl. I was kinda intimidated by her confidence, (very confident women have that effect on me :-/ ) Anywho, she added a few of the group on Facebook including me. I accepted Facebook friendship requests from at least 100 people while in Australia, so accepted hers.
About a year after I got home we swapped a few messages on Facebook. She runs a hotel in a town close to were I visit friends in England and said we should catch up sometime. I think I said yes but in reality I didn't think it world ever happen. I'll never forget a story she told during the tour about how she had met her soulmate in Sydney. She said it would never work because he had a trade and not a ...I don't even know what she called it....a degree type job I guess. That blew my mind, I felt a little disgusted I think. If I met my soulmate, I wholeheartedly hope I wouldn't give a fuck what job she had. That story was what put the majority of the group off her I think.
Getting to the point, I've just received a message on Facebook from her saying that if I'm ever over in Brighton again (were my friends live) I should let her know and we could catch up.

I'm actually going over tomorrow.

While on that Uluru tour in Australia, I think I spoke to this girl for about 30mins at most. Since then, we swapped about 3 facebook messages 3yrs ago.

I'm bewildered.

Wow ok, maybe there is a bit more to it as you seem to still think about her...I can't wait to hear the second chapter to the story. I travel a lot so my diary is full of story like that, some have created awesome memories and I hope this one will for you wink

Aw thanks, got it back already, I never stay very long in the dark wink

Well it seems like this girl is no good news unless she completely came down her golden throne...That made me realised I was in Uluru in 2008 too!!! haha! I stayed in Oz for 2.5 years, if you stayed in Melbourne than we may even have crossed path biggrin

Hey I was at the Ritz in St Kilda, I must say I had the time of my life there!! The sun, the nightlife, the people!! I miss it so much!!! It was quite hard to come back...Shame you were struggling with money then, you would have loved it!! It was nearly winter as well which is not the best time to be there, summer time is brilliant!!
