In March 2008, I was a month away from flying home from my year in Australia. I was on a tour of the red centre. Uluru (Ayres Rock) was the reason I went to Australia. There was about 15-16 on the tour. One English girl soon became a bit separated from the rest of us. She was very pretty and a upperclass, posh kinda girl. I was kinda intimidated by her confidence, (very confident women have that effect on me :-/ ) Anywho, she added a few of the group on Facebook including me. I accepted Facebook friendship requests from at least 100 people while in Australia, so accepted hers.
About a year after I got home we swapped a few messages on Facebook. She runs a hotel in a town close to were I visit friends in England and said we should catch up sometime. I think I said yes but in reality I didn't think it world ever happen. I'll never forget a story she told during the tour about how she had met her soulmate in Sydney. She said it would never work because he had a trade and not a ...I don't even know what she called it....a degree type job I guess. That blew my mind, I felt a little disgusted I think. If I met my soulmate, I wholeheartedly hope I wouldn't give a fuck what job she had. That story was what put the majority of the group off her I think.
Getting to the point, I've just received a message on Facebook from her saying that if I'm ever over in Brighton again (were my friends live) I should let her know and we could catch up.
I'm actually going over tomorrow.
While on that Uluru tour in Australia, I think I spoke to this girl for about 30mins at most. Since then, we swapped about 3 facebook messages 3yrs ago.
I'm bewildered.
