growing up in the 90's versus being 27 in 2007.
I remember being about 12 or 13 years old. turning on the mtv top 20, and watching every video religiously. It was a great experience, a lot of fun to watch. it was, dare i say it, entertaining?
i remember watching videos by nirvana, pearl jam, alice in chains, soundgarden, all of those, great bands. (and a lot of bands that didnt make it, remember the spin doctors?)
I remember the great rock and roll documentaries they made. I remember tabitha soren covering the 1992 election on mtv news. i remember, they tried to make a news outlet for young people. I remember wanting to be there, with my ripped up jeans and flannel.
I remember seeing women, girls, go ga ga for eddie vedder, christ cornell. I remember that was the style.
I woke up the other day, in september 2007. I plugged my tv back into the cable, and it's all crap. MTV is bullshit, and it kind of always has been.
I will say that mtv has had a huge contribution to youth culture. But now, it tries to create it. I can honestly say that I learned everything I pretty much know abotu sex and relationships from 2 places. my mom and dad, and mtv.
I learned about aids on mtv, and contraception, and how important that is. They urged the young to get out and vote, held rallies, and really contributed a LOT to bill clinton's election. They had MTV debates, that werent a joke. I learned a lot.
today. its the opposite. They have forgotten about all of that, and went out to make a buck. Blame viacomm, blame whoever.
my point in all of this is, is that music is really important. and people arent hearing good music. you have to find it.
mtv did a lot of good for me, but its different now. people are different now. they'd rather watch my super sweet 16, than listen to some soundgarden.

So yes, I am newly single. It blows, and yeah, trying to figure my life out. I need a roommate to fill the other bedroom in my apartment, any takers? Boston is a great city, andthe apartment is really beautiful, if I do say myself. Lots of room, etc.
I have been working 2 jobs the past week and will be for the next few weeks. Working on my first broadcast tv show as an editor. Very interesting.
With the bad comes the good! I guess, gotta keep moving on the up and up.

will someone just punch me in the sinuses. i cant take it anymore. yay, almost a week straight with a sinus migraine, i want to jump out of my skin. ive watched everything firefly related in the past day. the series and the movie.
i want more, but tthey dont make it no mo. wtf. i cant sleep, been up since 2am, my teeth ache. scratchthat, throb. it hurts.
i want to sleep. i can't. i need to take another day off of work, i can't. i need this to be done with. now, its driving me to do things i dont want to do. like take lots of leftover vicodin which is badddddddddddddddddddddd
anyhow, hopefully this'll go away soon. ke today at some point.

what a crazy time it has been. shot a music video 2 weekends ago in rhode island with the midnight creeps. I'm working on finishing that as we speak. then last weekend, did 4 days on a super secret awesome short film that will knock peoples underwear and socks off, as well as anyone wearing hair pieces. intermittently working at the part time edit job, takign care of bidness there.
been soo busy, but sooo happy. the girl and I are finally getting our apartment into shape, planning a small but cool shindig. anyone interested?
