The exciting news is that I'm moving into a new house starting the 26th. Then we have until the 1st to clean this place, etc. I'm really happy because the new place is an honest to god house as opposed to this tiny apartment.
The new place is a small 2 bedroom, but I'm going to have an office again..no more computer in the kitchen, always in the way. The new house also has a cute sun room..the light is great in there and I want to do a lot of photography there.
Best part about the new place though is that it has its own washer/dryer and it has a bathtub. Ah, luxury! I can come home sweaty and dirty from a game and throw my laundry in the washer and take a nice long bath. How cool is that?
I'm a ridiculously simple man sometimes

Sitting in Portland tonight, updating from a friends computer. Came up this weekend to try and get my sister to go into labor. She is now past her official due date and wants that baby out now dammit!
Just got a 20 GB iPod and am experiencing the musical goodness. I'm going to try and hook it up here and suck down a bunch of music that friends have that I do not. I find that the ear buds are a bit large, but I really like the sound quality.
Besides that, I got to go to a friends Wiccan/Pagan shop on Burnside for the first time today. Really cool place. I'm not a pagan myself, but I've many friends and family that are and I'm glad to see nice shops catering to that. Portland is a good place for community support like that.
And I sent in my hours for the contacting work I do and realized I put in a good 60 hours in the last month doing contract work over and above the 40+ hour a week job that I have. I work to much. I hope I can settle things down to a single job soon, it would be nice. But for now I will take solace in the interesting work I'm doing and the money it brings in and ignore the stress bits.

Random update for a random day.
I feel a bit of weird pride as I got a cranky 11 month old baby to sleep all by myself the other night. We were babysitting and instead of handing her off to my partner, I said to myself "no, I can do this". So I stuck it out and bounced and cuddled and sang and she fought it and fought it but I finally triumphed. She finally got her head down onto my shoulder that last time and passed out, drooling happily. As a guy without a baby of my own, I felt it was an accomplishment. And it only took like 20 minutes. So go me
Fun things:
Pirates of the Caribbean script in leet-speak:
4arrrrrrr!
One does not simply walk into Mortor

Home sick today, my head colds suck. My head just feels thick and it makes me feel stupid. One of those times where I just look at the screen and go "duhhhhh".
Excitement yesterday was the arrival of Burningman tickets..w00t! Since neither I nor the girl got to go last year, we saved up money at got tickets first day they were on sale. Definitely looking forward to getting back out onto the Playa again.
Had my second company Poly munch on Tuesday. I think its awesome that I work at a place cool enough to have multiple poly folks that are pretty open and out about things. It's always fun to start off the munches with figuring out who is whose partner and in what way. Those Poly folks...just wacky.

Well, its a new year and I decided to ring it in by getting my SG account back. The poverty that foced me to give up the account has abated somewhat and I'm really glad to be back.
Here's hoping I get around to writing in my journal a lot more this year
And a shout out to my friend Kealli for prodding me into getting my account set up again *grin*

Went and looked at nipple jewlery last night. I'm going to get my right nipple done at a shop here in town soon, maybe next week. I think I'll do one at first, see how it looks assymetrical and then make a decision on the other. Besides, it was pointed out to me that I'll have one nipple to play with while the other one heals. Brilliant logic to that.
Oh, I also finally ordered a webcam. Staples had a decent one from a discontinued line for $30. I hope it arrives soon, should be fun.

ok, new year, new birthday, new attempt at keeping a journal *somewhere* so I don't look so pathetic.
Big thing for me recently? I turned 30 on Jan. 10th. I decided to celebrate by doing a silly thing and playing in an Ultimate Frisbee tournament. I've played Ultimate some (little less than a year) so I was kind of outclassed. More than that, it required me to play four 60 minute games in one day. Then party that night. Then get up and play more games.
Well, I survived. And even had fun. Proved to myself that I can be in better shape at 30 than I was at 25. So it was all good. Although I admit the Valium helped alot
The year is looking good thus far. Here's hoping its better than 2003.
