MAYHEM Fest
okay. much better than I expected. the drive there kinda blew (stupid me forgetting about cottage country traffic...) so i ended up missing Walls of Jericho, one of the three bands i wanted to see. I went by myself but kept running into lots of people i knew which was cool.
36 Crazyfists is my new favorite band. The one band that i absolutely had to see and they tore it down. I can't wait until November when they are coming back around with In Flames
Machine Head was the last band I had to see. And i was more let down than satisfied. I know their most recent album is absolutly awesome, but when you have a 35 minutes set time, do you reallt need to play two 10 minute long songs?
Finishing With Davidian almost made up for it, but not quite...
As for the headliners, Disturbed was fantastic. Now i'm not a Disturbed fan at all, but everytime I've seen them they have impressed me and this was no exception. They are super tight live and the new material was solid. Mind you the older songs (Stupify, Down with the Sickness) sound dated, but all in all enjoyable
Slipknot, on the other hand, was disappointing. Lackluster pyro and cheap stage effects didn't make up for poor performance. They left out some of their most popular songs (Spit It Out, Wait and Bleed), talked a lot about nothing, and I wasn't too impressed with their new song either.
so no concerts on the near horizon, but Fan Expo is less than two weeks away, Yay!!!!!!

okay so NIN was pretty good. had to scramble to find a body to fill a ticket last minute but did it. i wasn't crazy about the setlist but the light show was phenominal! bumped into BrightRedScream and SixBoxes as i was heading out and they seemed to had a pretty good time too
i'm still debating Mayhem fest on Friday... with it supposed to rain it kinda makes me wary of going, and i've seen most of the bands i'd like to... but i have''t seen 36 Crazyfists ever and you can never see Walls of Jericho too many times. decisions decisions

wow has it really been two months since i posted last?
well, i've finally given up. on a couple of friends' recommendations i've joined PlentyofFish.com
really, is there any way to meet people without feeling stupid? i mean, i feel like a dork going up to some woman at the bar/club/grocery store and trying to intiate a conversation.... why should online be any different? lol
on the off chance that anyone wants to check out my profile there (or give me tips on what i should put on/remove from it), my user name is endofinnocence - surprise surprise
happy fishing!

so i'm feeling old.
again.
no really, i'm feeling old. i threw my back out again at work. well maybe it wasn't so much as me throwing it out as the guy i was lifting something with threw it out for me. how does happen that when some one tells you to stop lifting THREE times you say okay, and then continue lifting said object?
so yay, on restricted duty again.... this is going to go over well when i go in on Monday and let my supervisor know. at least this time it wasn't my fault.
and of course the weekend that i cripple myself we get ALL this FREAKING SNOW! i mean, i like winter (no really, i do!) but enough is enough! i shovelled my drive five times yesterday and still have to do it again. it doesn't help that the banks on the sides of my drive are already at shoulder height. so here i am, inflamed back and all, shoveling a four car driveway, needing to get the snow almost 6 feet in the air. this is of course while my neighbour down the street, who is upwind, is using their snowblower... and guess where it's all landed?
in an unrelated matter - any one know anyone that's wants to move to Milton? i have an extra room i'm still looking to rent out and really need to find someone to put into it....

so i've come to a startling revalation about having my own place - it's costs a lot.
i guess i just didn't realize how much i'd be living paycheque to paycheque. between having the credit card close to maxed and the cable company cutting my phone service for 4 days, having no money kinda blows.
any one have a part time job open with extremely flexible hours for coming in?

wowit's been a while since i've posted on here again... seems i go through these phases where i'm on here all the time and then i'm not... but at least this time i had a good excuse, what with moving and all.
i'll try posting again in the next few days with an update of what's been going on the last couple months for anyone that's interested....

been a bit since i last posted
so it's moving time.... and what a better time for my van to decide to die!
pumping smoke everywhere, turns out a head was leaking and now the whole engine's toast. so this week instead of packing like i should've been, or making phone calls to set up the gas/phone/cable/interweb/etc., or trying to find roommates, i've been car shopping. without any hopefully potential results, baah!
this is going to be an expensive month....
