My zombie short film Baby Steps is continuing its shambling march across the Atlantic - having recently played in Mexico City's Macabro Film Festival, it's fetched up in Atlanta, GA, where it will be playing as part of the HorrorQuest Film Festival 2012. Here's the bumph, on the off chance that anyone reading this lives there.

In case you haven't heard me shouting it from the rooftops, my short zombie film Baby Steps is playing in the East End Film Festival next weekend.

Here's the bumph.

Well, it's been a while since I've been on here. The reason being that 1) I got a new job and 2) I've been busy moving house. Now I'm living down in Richmond, an area whose name must always be prefaced by the word "leafy."

It's odd, I deliberately picked Richmond because it was as close to work as I could get while still remaining on the Underground. It's a psychological thing, I need to believe I'm still in London. Though to be honest, it's taking a while to adjust to the fact that I'm not *really* in London anymore, and that if I want to go on a big shop I go to Kingston, not the centre of town.

Anyway, the new job, you say? I am writing about tech and gadgets and other shiny trinkets. It is most enjoyable, though starting my new occupation on the week that Apple released a new iPhone and Steve Jobs died was perhaps not the best move. Now I'm finally cycling into work instead of commuting, which means an extra hour in bed (woo!) and exercise (woo! Though I am rather undoing all the good of the exercise by eating custard creams).

On the downside, there's no phone reception in the building, which makes it next to near impossible to get onto SG during the daytime. Or Facebook, for that matter. And when I get home, the last thing I feel like doing is sitting in front of the computer.

So, how is everyone?

Here is another video what I did. It has a zombie in it. It was made for significantly less money than A Stitch In Time. I think the zombie contacts were the most expensive thing about it.

Here is a short film what I did:

<Deleted 'cause I'm trying to punt the film out to festivals!>

It is about quantum physics and haberdashery. Sort of.

Moths! Moths everywhere, infesting my bedroom! How do I kill the little fuckers before they eat my clothes?

Now things are finally settled with the flat and work, I've enrolled on a screenwriting course. Time to refresh the old writing circuits. Hollywood, here I come! smile

It's been a weird week for me. I had to euthanise my goldfish, he'd been ill for a while now and nothing I tried helped. I spent a truly eye-watering amount of money on medications and things for the tank, tried to restart the nitrogen cycle but the poor little fella's system just couldn't take it.

When I was in my first year of secondary school we were given a couple of goldfish to look after for a week as part of a biology class. 18 years later... I still had mine. They lived in a tank at my parents' house; every few weeks I'd pop down and give the tank a clean, and it worked out pretty well. Until last year, when one of them died . The other fell ill soon afterwards - maybe he was pining for his tankmate?

Anyway. Considering that they were probably feeder goldfish, Elvis and Marilyn had a pretty damn good innings. And I think I did everything I could to keep Elvis alive, but in the end it was a case of watching him suffer or putting him to sleep. But it was very wrenching having to euthanise Elvis - like cutting off the last tie to my childhood in many ways. I feel rather bereft.

Been a busy start to the year for me. New job, new flat (which comes complete with a cat! Who is sitting next to me as I type this!). Things are starting to settle down now, but I still need to get some furniture for my room...
