Made a new mix CD a few days ago. First one I've made for myself in a while. I've made a few for others, but I just found a few songs on iTunes to give me enough for a CD. I think I put too much thought into these things sometimes. I have to have a good opener and closer. I try to really mix it up with everything in between. I do however try to keep some songs apart. For instance, songs from the same genre...can't have them back to back. Same with female vocalists, songs in another language. etc. etc. Is that being too fastidious??

Anyway, here is the tracklist, and a few thoughts on the songs....

-first time I heard this was on the trailer for Watchmen-----loved it.

-great song from a great movie.

What can I say? Overall, I can't say that I like Linkin Park. A few of their songs, yes. As a whole?? Nope. This was one of the occasions where I liked it.

-was hooked on this one a few seconds into the song starting at the opening of Slumdog Millionaire. When M.I.A.'s vocals kicked in, that sealed the deal.

-I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE modern/young country. Old school, and newer alt-country or old school sounding, I can live with. Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith et al?? puke Anyway, I like this old school song, and it's also how I feel sometimes....

-heard that one on the radio and liked it.

-loved this song when it was actually played on the radio.

-I actually like quite a few of The Chemical Brothers songs. Love Noel Gallagher's vocals on this one.

-there was a link for this song on Funny or Die. I can't remember if it was Judd Apatow or Adam McKay having it listed as one of their favourite songs. I checked it out, and enjoyed it.

-the version I put on the CD is different. It is Ministry's acoustic version from when they did a set for Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit concert.

-the version I put on the CD is from a demo session I believe. Pretty cool version.

-this is the new version that they recorded which was produced by Trent Reznor. Kick ass live too....

-song Billy Corgan wrote for Guitar Hero. OK, but I prefer Superchrist, the other song on the single.

-there's something about her NOT trying to hide her British accent while singing...

-another one from back in the day that I loved. Saw the video before hearing it on the radio....think part of me thought it was cool because of the anime.

-just another old skool country song I like

-this one goes waaaaaaaay back. Liked it when I was but a wee pre-teen

-True Blood theme song. 'nuff said.

-one of my favourite NIN songs, was geeked when Trent released a studio version...

-I just heard this song for the first time last week. It's from 1992!! I like music that can be categorized as Shoegazer (could it be because I have a thing for platforms?? wink ) Went and downloaded as soon as the song finished.

So that was my latest mix CD. Any thoughts??
